People choose to hide behind the mask of anonymity and be asswipes to anyone thats brave enough to ask for help.

Also made me paranoid about using Chrome.

and they cant decide between AMD and NVIDIA.

People are circlejerking about Thinkpads for whatever reason

All in all, i enjoy using /g/

>People choose to hide behind the mask of anonymity and be asswipes to anyone thats brave enough to ask for help.
There is plenty of helping that goes on here. People just need to try to solve the problems themselves, and only ask if they can't. Also you need to ask your question in the correct way and in the correct place.

Thinkpads are essentially memelaptops. Almost nobody, as a private person, in the real world, would buy a thinkpad over a mbp in the same price range.
Not even leading programmers.
It's niche market is being bought bulk by corporations because they can handle the abuse and are cheap to fix.

All in all, It's just a cry for attention, a desperate shout saying "hey guise, I'm different, I'm not an apple drone, I'm intelligent so I bought a thinkpad".
They're essentially being what they despise: fags being smug because they own X brand laptop.

I swear I laugh my ass off everytime I see thinkpad threads with neckbeards circlejerking over their ancient thinkpads with riced out loonix or Windows 98.

>>
>>46845032
>would buy a thinkpad over a mbp in the same price range.
Which is why they aren't in the same price range. A macbook costs 10 times more than a thinkpad.
/g/ reveres used thinkpads, leftovers from when businesses upgrade 1,000 laptops at once and have to do something with the old ones.
>>
>>46843920
The thing that most people I know hate about apple is how they make a comparable product and charge literally twice the price for it.

the worst part is, all of these people buy apple products and feel like they got a better product because they spent more. People hate on apple because they are marketing geniuses that pray on the ignorant
>>
>>46845032
>All in all, It's just a cry for attention, a desperate shout saying "hey guise, I'm different, I'm not an apple drone, I'm intelligent so I bought a thinkpad".
>They're essentially being what they despise: fags being smug because they own X brand laptop.

they're also poor as shit which is why they idolise $200 laptops that you can't buy anymore

it's the perfect poorfag product, there will never be a thinkpad the same as the memepads to cost more than they can afford
>>
>>46845045
A nice specced new Thinkpad is about the same as the equivalent MBP, though. That was essentially my point.
>>
>>46845032
reasons i got a thinkpad, which is probably similar to a lot here;
- they can be gotten cheap, see >>46845045
- they look great (subjective, naturally)
- they're functional (design focuses on usability over things like being thin)
- they're expandable (plenty of ports, external and internal, no soldered-in parts)

I'm not saying thinkpads aren't functional, which they are, obviously. But you obviously can't point the finger on mbps just because apple wanted to go as thinnest as they could. They still have godlike trackpads and pretty decent keyboards.
Another thing you can't ignore is the fact that even Lenovo is going for thinner designs, it's just the market trend and honestly it's better for portability which is the point of a laptop.

My current laptop is a mid 2012 13' MBP. It's not as thin as a retina, but I wouldn't mind if it was.

>>
>>46845218
I really don't give a fuck about marketing.
I bought an mbp because it was a good laptop and well built.
It's obviously more expensive than other laptops with identical specs but then again it will probably last longer and will maintain it's resale value a lot better than any other.
It's just a nice thing to have and it never let me down.

Before buying the mbp, I had a 1500€ Asus laptop with the shittiest keyboard ever. The keys were literally starting to sink after 6 months of use.

That's bs. I had an iMac I used for video/photo editing. Bought it new for 1100€ in the beginning of 2012. Sold it for 750€ in December.
Laptops hold their value even better.
Learn this: everything that has an Apple logo will sell premium even used.

Reddit is shit...but it's a lot shitter if you actually care.
Fully agree that the defaults and big subreddits are cancer though.
Then again I found that chan size correlates with quality as well.

Even that's easier. I don't have to fill out a damn captcha every time I post on Reddit and the process of creating a new account doesn't take much longer than filling out a captcha since there is no email verification process.

That poor people hide behind freedumbs as a reason for their clunky, less convenient software.

That 90% of technology are smartphones and smartphone homescreens.

That either shills on /g/ are real, or there's some pretty hardcore fanboys hanging around.

My thinkpad was 250 dollars, had an ivy bridge i5, is built like a tank, looks cool to me but isn't appealing for niggers to steal, compatible with loonix, has a perfect keyboard layout and buttons, features the little clit I find useful when I am typing and programming, and I can buy replacement parts all the time.

in my opinion, what makes a device shit is if there are better products being sold for half the price.

Apple fits that bill. Apple is fucking garbage.
Their device might be pretty and run smooth, but if I can get a device that runs even better, allows for more to be done with it, and has better specs, then theres no reason for apple to even exist.

Amending config files in linux makes you a programmer and some kind of legend hacker.

Abusing people is a great way of covering up your own limitations.

People can't see beyond the limits of their own choices.

Brand loyalty is more powerful than most people's nationality, and most people don't realise just how good a job these corporations have done to capture their minds.
