I switched from Chanu to Clover recently because Chanu still lacks good WebM support. I like the browsing experience better in Chanu, but they've really fallen behind on other features.
Im posting from Clover right now. Used to use Chanu, and then after a phone upgrade it had been pulled from the app store, so I switched.
Is there any way to tell chanu's gallery to fuck off? Preloading images and wasting mobile data even when I change the settings to "never preload".

I use Clover. The two biggest problems I have is
1. I cant seem to find any way to find a gallery with thumbnails.
2. I often experiance that the memory for some reason gets filled up and therefor images sometimes refuses to load.
And on a side note it seems Clover forces my phone to waste alot more battery power then chanu did but I am not sure.

I suggested the AOSP gallery with big thumbnails.
Mimi because apparently clover isn't supported by my phone.
It stopped sucking too so there's that, tab browsing still there.
Only thing I miss is the ability to remove boards from the default list of sfw boards.
I love clover, its just so good, and the hability to configure the font size is great, the only bad thing about it sob far is the extra-difficult captchas

If you still want to root it, do it. Install a recovery: TWRP or CWM, doesn't matter which one but TWRP is better.
Using your recovery, make a backup first. Then if that gallery will brick your device you just shut the phone off, boot to the recovery and restore from the backup you just made.

Clover is slow as fuck when it comes to loading images and crashes every day, Captcha is retarded and it has very bad customisation.
Only thing that is keeping me away from Chanu is i dont know how to fucking post with it. Also it has no thread tracking like clover ( i think ).

Open the boards editor (you know, "add more" in the boards drop down menu), you see the six dots to the left of each board name? That means you can drag those to reorder the boards in the list and even swipe them away completely. Now, drag the desired board to the top. Whichever board is at the top will be the default one to open on startup.
This seemed fairly self evident to me.

I am using Clover. The only thing keeping me from switching to Chanu is that Clover handles image viewing in a less stupid manner. Tap thumbnail to expand, tap again to view full image. No gallery bullshit, no preloading bullshit.
Otherwise Clover is ugly and sucks though it would suck slightly less if it gave the option to manually resize and clear the cache.
