If there's no good OSS alternative then what can you do

Show me an entirely open source computer, from cpu and gpu to mouse and monitor

If you buy Intel you are supporting an enemy of free software.
>>46741929
IRC clients for example, all the good ones are OSS
>>46741939
I'd like to see JUST an open sourced monitor.
I doub't such a thing exists or is even feasible.
>>46741939
show me your hypocrisy, oh wait
>>46741879
I can hack open source software. I can't hack open source hardware because I do not own any chip fabs, so it doesn't matter to me.
>>46741966
It's p. feasible, but not in the way you're probably thinking
>>46741959
If you buy intel you're supporting ISIS as that's the company's CPU that was used to design the cameras that they use to film people burning.
Do you support terrorists, /g/?

Close enough

Oh, and a gook monitor that lets you overclock

That's not open hardware.
>>46742212
How would one make open source hardware if you cannot even compile it to see if it really is what they say it is? The best a company can do is make it well documented and even then, since you cannot compile and test yourself, there is no way to tell if that is everything they are including.
>>46742230
Compiling in software is equivalent to building in hardware, you dipshit.

No fucking shit, but it still wouldn't be opensource stupid nigger.

Base it off a FPGA and provide Verilog
Or a RISC with microcode
>>46741879
There is no such thing as open source hardware as hardware is not made from source code idiot.

It's impossible to verify modern hardware, you can't just bust out a microscope and audit transistor placement, it's infeasible. so even if you could get a fab house to give you full schematics you could never verify it, save for like 1 in a 1000 chips made, if even that.
Just gotta trust em

If OP wasn't retarded, he would of said hardware without adequate documentation which does not really matter, manufacturers can bullshit all they want with documentation but can't with source code.
