The Mediatek MT6795 managed to score a huge 4536 points in the Multi-core benchmark, beating the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 which scored just 4345 points.

Both chipsets are 8-core, 64bit processors running 4 x Cortex A57 and 4 x Cortex A53 cores, and both were running Android 5.0 Lollipop for the benchmark.

Asus Zenfone 2 2GB will most likely be 299 dollars. Fuck that shit.

Where can I find the upcoming releases of the big Chinaland phone companies?

Except for Asus... fuck Asus ;_;

MediaTek is such a fucking boss company. They haven't had the most money to throw around, but when they see a good idea coming they jump behind it full force. They're an HSA Foundation founding member, and delivered one of the first SoCs that complied with the provisional HSA spec at the time. Their true octacore designs deliver remarkably high sustained performances without massive thermal throttling issues. As an IC designer they're really leading the pack in a lot of respects.
Here in the west we're used to seeing Qualcomm or Apple dominate benches and charts, but elsewhere in the world value is what matters. When it comes to that MediaTek, Allwinner and Rockchip tend to be powerhouse contenders, and so far MediaTek has been coming out on top. Though Rockchip has been no slouch, delivering a $5 Cortex A53 chip capable of handling 4K video.

The landscape for this hardware is completely different, and its likely to completely disrupt markets in the western world. Apple is probably secure in their places due to brand loyalty, but manufacturers who purchase hardware from 3rd parties are likely to start shipping hardware from these less known vendors. Even Sony came out and said they'd have more MediaTek powered devices. 2015 will see a less Qualcomm dominated landscape than 2014, and that is an exciting thing no matter where your allegiances lie.

The mobile market is one of the most volatile and fastest changing markets. Its the segment to pay attention to if you want to stay on the bleeding edge of tech for sure.

Meizu MX4 or Xiaomi Mi Note Pro are what you need.

who the fuck would willingly use a chinkphone? isn't it common knowledge that all of them have hardware backdoors?

>every major American company is a Prism partner
>NSA can access any Apple or Qualcomm hardware

Honestly, if China wanted to spy on me I wouldn't care. I will never live in China. I will never visit China. Any derogatory statements I post about China will never affect me. As a resident of the US, the data that they could gather on me for marketing purposes would never be worth anything since I will never purchase products in China.
Regardless, I'm going to root and install Xposed on any device I own. Every single devices with a cellular modem can be tracked no matter where it was produces, or where the company is headquartered. Trying to degenerate them for being "Chinese" is just pulling the wool over your own eyes. Apple, Samsung, Sony, Nokia, HTC, these companies are all equally vulnerable to spying by the NSA.

The problem with all chink phones is that you get no software support

fuck that
>>
>>46734108
:^(
it would be perfect if it was the size of ~2012 flagship smartphones
HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy S3, Nexus 5, etc
I don't even have tiny hands but I can only cover maybe 70% of the screen one-handed
and phones are only going to get bigger from here
fuck this gay earth

DHL? The 2GB ram version is coming soon.

I would say that once the 2GB ram version comes out in a few days, the Redmi 2 will be a GOAT entry smartphone
>>
It fucking sucks because none of these stupid chinkphones support US LTE bands. For fuck sakes just make a device that supports 1700, 1900 and 700 aka band 2 4 and 17.

Posting from one now, works like a dream.

All the ones relased in 2015 do. The Redmi 2 supports both T-Mobile and AT&T 4G.
>>
Meizu M1 note looks like a dream for me
>looks sexy af
>5.5" 1080p
>2gb ram, 16gb capacity
>LTE
>the mediatek mt6752 is a better SoC than the equivalent qualcomm (snapdragon 615)
>great 13mp camera
>3140mah battery

but it's really overpriced atm due to extremely high demand, chinese price is CNY999 = $160 but it's selling for around $220-250 on redistributor webstores. Also the meizu phones are really locked down in terms of customizing, so you'd be stuck with FlymeOS and waiting for Meizu's firmware updates.

I was dead set on picking up a Zenphone 2 until they upped the price. Now I'm kind of stuck between and Jiayu S3 and a Umi Zero.

If any anon that owns either of the above could post some feedback I would be eternally grateful.

Zenfone 5 user here. 9/11 phone for someone that's not a heavy user.

Works and feels much better than the Moto G even without pure Android
>>
>>46735514
>and a Umi Zero.
Don't they have the issue with the battery, where it expands a little and pushes off the back plate? I was going to get one until I actually started looking into it.

Although to be fair, there are so many chinks at this point that even small and uncommon issues look really widespread.

Elephone did the same. They just put the two M's next to each other

That's a bizarre fault but a valid concern. Especially seeing as you can't just walk down to chinkphones'r'us to return it.

Anyone with a mi4 ?

no it doesn't

Redmi 2 supports only band 7

Xiaomi probably is a good bet, they are not releasing sources though so custom roms are pretty non-existent
>>
anyone have any experience with the Ascend Mate 2? I'm looking towards getting one because my Nexus 5 won't last longer than about 6 hours on a charge if I actually plan on using it. I would just use the phone for watching some videos, reading the occasional book, streaming music and listening to podcasts.
>>
>>46736172

Protip: There are 3 different versions of the Redmi 2. Make sure you buy the right one. Try Aliexpress as well.

>>46736720
