You people talk about those dinosaur laptops all the time, and I totally believe they have a nicer keyboard and aspect ratio than other laptops, but has any of you ever taken his thinkpad outside the basement? Like disconnected it from the charger and took it to class?
If so:
- did people laugh?
- do you have a hernia now?
- did it last longer than 3 minutes without power?

3rd grade. took a laptop from the early to mid 1990's to 3rd grade class, in ~2002 or so. I cringe at the memories
I cringe at alot of my memories. I'm basically stuck in 2009-2010 right now anyway the way i use computers. Still have a desktop pc, it's home base. i'm really pathetic.

No, I get complimented on it on a regular basis. I had a couple people try to buy it off of me.

I go to uni 4 times a week and work from mon-fri and i do take my t420 erry day im going to class, i did replaced the backup battery it had for an ssd so it's actually pretty light. I walk 1km to take the bus downtown, then i walk another km to work, after work i take the train and then one bus to get to my uni, then, i take 2 buses to get home. There are other people who have thinkpads and others hace macbooks and whatnot. i feel superior/awesome using the fingerprint scanner to unlock my computer

This. Got a 14" Elitebook 8440p myself, 120GB SSD and 1TB hdd and 6G of ram and I fucking love it. Also have a 15" Thinkpad t510i but i'm going to give that one to my girlfriend.

Late reply, was out to lunch.
Solid build quality, the dock is inexpensive and convenient. I got one with a number pad from one company, and one without from another. The small one doesn't have a serial port though.
