How did you get cbz files loading off the sd card? Mine's refusing to add them to library.

Still, it is by far the best ereader on the market ( disregarding the dire state of its book store).

Get some KCC'd sadpanda torrents on there. But use png output because it doesn't dither the palette properly for jpegs

Nah. Novels and textbooks are 98% of my lectures. Just showed comics, because with PDFs they are one of the most difficult for the ereaders to properly display. Pic related for you with an old, a bit cracked Nook Classic as a bonus.

They exist but are extremely rare, expensive and colors they display are like a shirt washed 2000 times in a shitty detergent. For color things stick to the tablets.

you avoid the upfront cost of the ereader, but 5€ pr. 250 pages quickly adds up.

I've got an Aura HD but the touchscreen is shit. Some times it locks up and doesn't recognize any touch until you put it to sleep and wake it up again (then it may or may not recognize all your touches at once) or just jumps two pages at once instead of one.

I wish this thing had fucking buttons.
>>
>>46683976
I just got one second hand for £90 (RRP £129.99) and have had no issues thus far. I've been marathoning Kodomo no Jikan on there via a torrent from nyaa which I fed through Kindle Comic Converter which has a preset for for the Kobo Aura HD. It looks absolutely tremendous, though for that particular ereader I'd recommend PNG output as it is incapable of dithering a JPEG for some reason. It is truly comparable to reading print text (especially when you turn the light off) and has a larger screen than most other ereaders.
>>
Got an Aura HD too bit expensive so I just pirate all the books I read.
The screen is pretty good and works well for my chinese comics, SD card slot is really sweet too.

The case can't handle fingerprints and I wish it had some buttons to flip pages but other than that I'm really happy with it.

Need to get some protective case still.

Can you explain? It seems impossible, since it has and LCD and not an e-paper screen.

Myth. You lose eyesight no matter what the screen is.
People reading books in the 17th century would be myopic. It's all about looking at a thing right next to you all day for years on end.

Advantages of e-ink are:
Much higher battery life
Readable in any light condition that real paper is readable in with one caveat- some have backlights so that range is extended even into darkness.

I do a LOT of comfy bedtime reading with my kobo glo. It's great. You should have a bedside lamp on, since reading from a glowing screen isn't very comfortable. I could turn it off, but the lamp is too dark to read from it with the backlight off, but it's bright enough just to provide some comfy atmospheric lighting.
Also so I can see where to put my glasses.

>>
>>46685474
Any imagemagick inputs to
1. Detect dual page spreads
2. split them automatically
?

I could go write a script myself but I'd like to know if one already exists.

I'm forming how to do it in my head already; split them based on image ratio. Find the width of the first image (or a sample image in the folder) to use that as a reference, and then use that width to split in half any image that is roughly double that width.
Naming them is pretty trivial.
>>
>>46684073

>>46685403

zoom and slide around, rudimentary and not pleasant on an eink display but what I read rarely have those two page pages
