Galaxy S phones?

I mean they've got a removable battery and storage, are easily repairable and ugly as sin

>associating Lenovo with Thinkpads
Don't forget, Lenovo is the one that KILLED Thinkpads

Now, if IBM made a smartphone, those would surely be in the running.
>>
>>46620530

Galaxy S is more like Wal-mart tier laptops

Cheap plastic build, gets the job done for two years then craps out after that.

Lucky you

Still falling for their "Hi-tech polycarbonate" pitch or are you just shilling really hard? Face it, they don't use denser materials because I would be cost prohibitive. Plastic insides and trim with a metal battery door and front? I can get behind that. Plastic all around, on a $700 flagship device?

FUCK NO

The lenovo K900 phone has an Intel Atom processor. Does that mean that it could theoretically run Windows? Also wasn't Android made for ARM?

>>
>>46625015
Not him, but I'll tell you why I'm moving away from Lelnovo: they fucked up the middle mouse button. Recent drivers make it impossible to use the middle trackpoint button for scrolling and middle click. You have to uninstall the driver and use the built in windows one if you want to middle click, but then you give up some settings and the ability to disable the touchpad (all of which are uniformly terrible on recent Thinkpads). There is TPMiddle, but it seems to be unreliable for me.

The build quality has regressed in some ways, my X220 is fairly flexible and creaky, and the X240 I borrowed to see if I wanted to buy one was just as bad. IBM started the cost-cutting measures, but Lelnovo accelerated them.
>>
>>46625984
My first complaint is only correct under windows, I should mention. On Linux it works exactly the way I need, but I do need Windows on a daily basis and I have other Thinkpads that I will keep and which will continue running Linux.

Why, I happen to be an expert on this subject!
There are, well, where, 2 types of atom chips intel made: The regular netbook range and the SOC's.
The netbook ones had Intel GMA and shit, the SOC's had PowerVR graphics and no built in BIOS, they're boot loader only.
Even if you could get it to boot none of windows build in graphics drivers would probably work.

On that note, if you throw chroot'd linux on it or equiv you can run WINE, I have a Moto razr i, one of the few other phones with an intel chip, and it handles 2d windows games, well, modesty.
For me it was a choice between the K900 and the i, the i had an SD slot so that settled it. All that shit's useless if you don't have space to store the required software.
Also I'm not even sure if the K900 has root.
Other than that, I'd love to see more lenovo phones. With motorola to tell them off when they fuck something up, of corse.
>>
>>46624928
Depends on type of GPU it has.
>>
>>46627241
So yeah, for the better part the GMA ones where on laptops and the SOC's on android devices, although now they're both SOC's, intel hasn't recently made a PowerVR Atom chip, so perhaps soon someone will put a windows oriented chip in a phone.

And as anon above said, android wasn't made for ARM. It's just that most devices it runs on use ARM.
Also x64 ain't a thing, but android would run fine on x86-64

Hey I remember you faggot, you've never really got accelerated X11 out of your shitty VNC hack and never really replied back for your "findings", running GNU over chroot over vnc over an unaccelerated framebuffer is just lazy

Get libhybris working on your phone if you can't get the sgx540 already

how thick is this with the kyboard attached?
Other than the unacceptably high distance between keyboard level and screen level, it looks nice.

I have a phone that runs steam. Does that not counter my sins?
Plus, it was a warranty replacement for a 21:9 thing I had, no complaints. They even threw in 2 tablets.
>>46627450
But I need my phone to make caaaaallllssss...
Some of us have jobs, anon.

Anyway, I'll try when I get a day off or something.

>you really have no idea what you're talking about
Fucking show me a powervr x86 SOC with a standard BIOS, or, better yet, one running windows.
Unless you pull off that bios emulation fuckers some chips where rumoured to have you can piss off.
