These are all the /g/ projects I've remembered.

Guys I'm making my own distro for professionals so I want to get across how professional I am.

I'm calling it Quadri

This is the quari quadriped.
As you can see it has a hat because it's secure and hence covert.
4 legs means its stable and versatile.
he is jet powered because he's super fast
he has the latest sneakers because he is so up to date
he has a cane because he's puttin on the ritz.

What do you think?
This is a professional OS, so only professionals should comment. Thanks

tox failed?
>>
Anyone here remembers jiyuu linux?

http://jiyuu.xyz/linux.html
>>
>>45836068
Tox has been far and away the most successful project to come out of this shit stain of a board. For whatever that's worth.
>>
>>45836274
Do you know anyone who uses Tox? Me neither. I've been waiting 'til it has a decent Android client. In the meanwhile I've started using Telegram. Tox is just as dead as it can get.
>>
>>45836307
Tox is going to need more that one year of work for it to spread. Something like this will spread in the space of years, not months.
>>
Fuck that torrent program (Bit-whatever) log is good.
>>
>>45836307
>>45836319
The problem with Tor is that the people writing it are not well-versed in cryptography, yet they decide to hand-roll a “secure” p2p network + DHT

A friend of mine who works in crypto said it's pretty much a joke

Based, best, linux distro.

Amazing mascot too.

It looks fucking awesome! I'm connecting to the IRC and cloning the git right nao.
>>
>>45836251
An awesome project. Startpage it.
>>
>>45836068
If you count websites and services, add Pomf.se to failed list.
Not sure what to say about Teknik.
>>
>>45836721
pomf.se is just fine
People (admitly just here) use it many times.
Its more of a niche
>>
>>45836721
>Pomf.se
>failed

Pick neither
>>
>>45836068
Op, byteflod is win, gTorrent is kill. please.

I use pomf.se on a daily basis.

Mostly image hosting though.

There was a pretty neat piratebox mod created by some /g/entoomen a few months back when we had daily piratebox threads. Can't remember the name, though.

The reasons why I say it has failed are many. This is just a small list, still growing every few weeks:
https://wubthecaptain.eu/files/is-pomf-dead-yet.html

I've given more reasons to neku for leaving the team, 14 reasons to be exact. neku is going through a burnout period right now and he doesn't have the resources to keep Pomf.se healthy or maintained.

cock.li is pretty successful
>>
>>45837214
>Postfix
>RoundCube
>Used to run SSLv2/SSLv3
Stop liking what I don't like. vc is still based in US and I've discussed with him before how generalized and centralized (single point of failure) it is right now. There's no originality in cock.li anymore.
>>
>>45837197
Why don't you help raise awareness to how harmful tox is, wub?
>>
>>45837241
It's dead, Jim. You should have listened to me from the beginning.
>>
>>45836241

>does cockli count as /g/
afaik the dude just shared it in some random thread here on /g/. He already had it finsihed etc. That's how I remember it so correct me if I'm wrong.
>>
>>45837197
What a load of bullshit.

lolwut
I guess it's some sort of bait, but if he managed some do-able things like leaking the information and freezing pp adresses, he's a huge fucking prick. His face is so punchable.
>>
The secret to a successful project is to have one strong driving person who does most of the work. Generally all that should really happen is that this person asks other people for help with it occasionally.

And design the logo after the program is made.

Don't take it too seriously, it's a shitty parody of those Daiz images (pic related). I made the picture a long time ago, and the source is here (CC0 license):

>>
>>45836068
I'd say Tox was moderately successful. I haven't used it extensively, but it certainly *looks* polished.
>>
Notice how the failed /g/ projects have good logos
>>
I wonder how long vc keeps things like IP addresses.
I'm not interesting, but I'm fucking worried that every IP I've used to connect to some of my IP address could be connected to each other and me.
I've started using tor to access one of them though.
>>
>>45837413
register with Tor and use Torbirdy
>>
>>45837197
What the fuck did I just read?
> Flooding Thailand to increase HDD prices
> Shutting down megaupload.com
> Assasinations
> Attempted rewrite of pomf.se in node.js
> The Fappening
> Warner Bros takedown

Succesful /g/ projects:
> pomf.se
> mediacru.sh
> Tox
> Byteflood
> Clover
>>

It's a little too late now.
>>

mediacru.sh is /g/?

Go Daiz! Get rid of fucking anime. Godspeed.
>>

Daiz isn't killing anime.

Daiz is making anime mainstream.
