Not OP, but I just installed it in virtualbox, so I'll tell you. It's the stock theme included with Ubuntu MATE, and yes, it's a modified version of Ambiance made to work with MATE

Just a heads up though, the stock theme that Ubuntu-MATE comes with is sort of an ugly-greenish one.
Cinnamon has the best window management that I know of. It's really useful to be able to place windows on a grid with hot keys. It's like the best of both worlds with respect to fixed windows managers like awesome

Same here, 1280x800 display on my laptop (hoping to get a 1440x900 panel if I can get one reasonably priced at some point), and having the dual toolbars is a bit irritating. I can handle just the one at the top without issues, but the one on the bottom is irrelevant I suppose. In Windows 7 (my primary OS) I keep the Taskbar on the left side of the screen - I mean, with "widescreen" displays, that's pretty much where it should be logically (meaning the sides of the display/desktop).
Guess I need to look into some dock solution for Ubuntu MATE 14.04 LTS (my distro of choice, first one in 20+ years of Linux experimentation that works flawlessly, not one single issue of any kind since I installed it which is god damned amazing).
1440x900 would be like a big jump for me nowadays, guess I really should hit up eBay and check out the pricing and finally get one.

The theme I'm using at the beginning is BlackMATE
Download the files from >>45618964, extract them to their respective locations, install ubuntu-mono from the AUR, and then follow the instructions in the uploaded webm
It should have an Ubuntu 10.10-like feel to it
