Welp, Firefox is dead
>>

Disgusting.

# $HOME/.vimperatorrc
set defsearch="google" # or whatever the fuck you want
>>

Stop Google and Apple shills, stop.

You can perfectly change default search engine on Firefox and even add more search engines...
>>
>>45589220
>Update firefox
>Didn't change my default search engine

OP confirmed full of shit
>>

>change default search engine

Not anymore the new Firefox policy with Yahoo has forced it to change settings for all versions now . You can change the default but it will turn back to Yahoo
>>
>>45589379
>Switched Yahoo to Google

Restart browser and it will revert back to Yahoo and this problem recently sprang up in the message boards
>>

Firefox = the good guys, dumbass
>>
>>45589220
>Even if you switch the settings you are still going to have to use Yahoo once you restart
What the fuck are you smoking?

If you specified a default search engine yourself you won't even see it switch to Yahoo after the update.
>>
>>45589406
it's a new feature and sometimes new features have bugs.

that being said, haven't had the problem myself

besides, you should be using ddg anyways...... unless you're a google shill

but you "use firefox", so that can't be true, right?

oh wait...
you're just a google employee pretending to be a firefox user and bring more of /g/ to your botnet, because you know that if you convert /g/ neckbeards here, everyone will want to switch.

Well I'm not fucking budging.
- and fuck your new captcha too
>>
>>45589410
Firefox is forcing the Yahoo botnet

>>45589427
Yeah if you did do that the settings will go back to Yahoo . This a recent problem for the past 2-3 days with users complaining about this and changing the settings does nothing. Does it momentarily but it goes back to Yahoo
>>
>install Firefox
>default search is not google
>change default search to google
>delete all other search engines
>never bothered again
>>
>>45589220
Retarded question that I could probably Google, but this thread isn't going places so fuck it:

What's with Mozilla's fondness of Yahoo? They always want you to use Yahoo for searches and shit. Did Yahoo buy them or something?
>>
>>45589220
Huh?

Then how come I'm still seeing duckduckgo on FFox 35?
>>
Op probably got the yahoo optimized version of ff and is all faggoty abiut hus own faggotness.
>>
>>45589444
Well that's weird, but it works on my machine.
>>
>>45589450
Maybe only windows users are affected
>>
>>45589433
>it's a new feature and sometimes new features have bugs.

Difference between a bug and being forced into something ? I mean the 'bug' is being present in all versions

>you should be using ddg anyways..

They sell your information and owned by Google

The deal represents the most significant partnership for Yahoo in five years. As part of this partnership, Yahoo will introduce an enhanced search experience for U.S. Firefox users which is scheduled to launch in December 2014. It features a clean, modern and immersive design that reflects input from the Mozilla team.

>>
>>45589570

I've been using it now solid for maybe 2 years? Very rarely ran into issues, in fact the only issues I've ever had with it have been within the last 6 months and they were very minor. It's a testing build at the end of the day, it's to be used merely for that.

I've not had enough problems with it to not use it as my default. Updates daily, you get all the new features first and I've not really found it any less reliable than the public releases. The minute it does start going to shit then yeah I'll use Firefox again.

I switched to chromium when 34 came. I switched the new start engine to startpage and disabled all the others. There is an addon on Firefox that does more or less the same as uMatrix: Policeman

NoScript is far better than uMatrix in all the functions that both do, and has some extra protection that chrome addons or browser cant give you.

Adblock Edge has higher blocking capabilities than uBlock (developer admitted), but it consumes far more memory, thats why I like uBlock more than ABE. I give you that one
