it's because gawker faggots are looking trough the files, it is pure gold if you know what you're looking for

I am less interested in the contents of the files themselves as opposed to what files prompt articles on Sony's behalf, if only for certain people of position who have been just killing themselves with stupidity for the last few years.

When's Microsoft's turn?

Apple got hacked.
Google got hacked.
Sony got hacked - maybe too much.
>>
>>45566872
Have you ever been to one of MS's sites and seen ".aspx" in the URL? Well, that's because they use superior Microsoft-based technologies. They will never be hacked.
>>
>>45566956
Oh please. Microsoft issues weekly security patches for a reason.

Apple was never hacked
>>
>>45566987
Bruteforce attack that steals user files is still a hack.
Apple's ridiculous security notwithstanding.
>>
>>45566872
>Google got hacked
when was that?
>>
>>45567000
User files weren't stolen, passwords were able to be cracked due to Find my iPhone login not timing out

Which would have been prevented if they used strong passwords, so not really a "hack"
>>
>>45566981
>a reason
They proactively fix the inevitable flaws in their technology products before they can even be exploited
>>
>>45567006
A few months back, some Anons managed to get SSH to a few boxes on the inside of Guggle's internal network with broken certificates.

>>45567011
That's Apple's fault, not a failure of password security, they didn't break in 5 attempts or less, Apple's dodgy security allowed them unlimited tries.
>B but they weren't looking at some green on black text flying past their screens so it wasn't hacking

User data was stolen by unauthorized use of a computer system - that is the court definition of hacking.
>>
>>45567061
can't find anything about that google hack on google
>>
>>45566872
Maybe never? Microsoft's TWC division (one of the internal IT security people) don't screw around.

Out of band patches, or any remote code exploit stuff? EVERYTHING is patched with 24 hours.

You want to talk about a shit show? Spend an "out of band patch" night in a Microsoft data center. 200K+ servers all getting patched and rebooted in a single night. It's fuckin' crazy.

Not to say that Microsoft will never be hacked, because shit happens, but I doubt they will ever be #sonyhacked.

Also, I don't consider a DoS to be a hack. Be it against Microsoft or Sony. You've flooded the load ballancers and up stream routers. You didn't actually breach. Gratz?
>>
When will I finally be hacked?
>>
>>45567021
Right. That why there is so much malware on Windows. To the point it's likely your system is part of a botnet and you don't even know.
>>
>>45568098
Do you even know what you're talking about?
>>
>>45567326
Why am I not surprised. Since Microsoft seems to have copied Google's search algorithm, you're not going to find on Bing either.
>>
>>45568144
You're asking someone who makes a living cleaning infected Windows PC. So yeah, I sure know what i'm talking about.
>>
>>45568175
And you're talking to someone with commit access to the Windows source tree.

The issue comes from outdated add-ons, people clicking yes to every damn thing, and flash / java exploits.

Next?
>>
>>45568216
>flash / java exploits.
Apple fixed this by disabling old versions Java on their OS by default. Why didn't Microsoft do the same?
http://appleinsider.com/articles/13/01/11/zero-day-flaw-prompts-apple-to-block-java-7-from-os-x

http://www.computerworld.com/article/2833712/hackers-exploit-two-more-windows-zero-day-bugs.html

My point being Microsoft is just as vulnerable as anyone else.

Now, I can't complain as it pays pretty good money.

Was the google hack done live on /g/? Is anything about it in the archive?

>My point being Microsoft is just as vulnerable as everyone else.

> Apple fixed this by disabling old versions Java on their OS by default. Why didn't Microsoft do the same?

Microsoft has. Which from a consumer standpoint makes sense, but when you're tied to KVM's, remote management cards, and SAN's that run Java 6, it's a pain in the ass.

At least at work it's all been replaced, so I only need to worry about my home rack...
>>
If most movies are filmed in 4K and 8K, shouldn't the videos that got leaked be in that resolution?
>>
>>45568216
Not him, but I highly doubt that. At most an overstatement, I guess you can be an junior at microsoft and have access to the source of some small module of windows but I highly doubt you ever laid eyes on any of the real interesting stuff.
