As there is no vital data on it (except some porn I made w/ my ex), I opened it up and turned it on while open to see what exactly happens.
The head moves onto the platter just fine, then reaches the middle and moves back to the starting position. It repeats this process while also producing a short beep every time.
Anyone seen this kind of behaviour in a HD and any idea what it might be caused by?
For clarification, I already googled the problem extensively but all I can find is guides on how to fix a stuck head. Of course I'll share the porn if I manage to access it.
