Goddamn i dont feel like paying another 100 dollars for windows 7 but its fucked to pirate it if something goes wrong. Is it really that risky to just pirate it? It'd be fully functional just like every other shit right?

If you have a license key (located on OEM machines) it's not illegal to torrent it.

the loaders are all closed source, so you can use them and a lot fo people do, but who knows if they can eb trusted.

You can torrent All-In-One copies that have side loaders. I'm trying to re-make a bootable USB that I had, but shit wasn't working. I think this all happened last time I made one, but I'm using PenTestLinux right now to burn the flash drive. Shits a pain in the ass though. Once you get a good .iso download and a good tool to make a bootable usb its fairly easy. Just read reviews and don't get like a BLACK EDITION of XP

For Windows 7 and earlier, just SLIC BIOS mod, there are tools people have built that automate everything.

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/forums/25-BIOS-Mods

For Windows 8, just AutoKMS

There's more lightweight KMS activators like KMSpico

Vista was solid as fuck what are you talking about. It was received poorly because MS changed their driver models (new kernel) and because Dell niggered MS into lowering the "minimum" requirements to 512MB of RAM thus resulting in all other OEMs making underpowered toasters trying to run its latest and greatest.
Not to mention it was overall a lot more resource hungry for its time than its then 6 year old predecessor.
Overall I thought Vista was pretty misunderstood. But MS is pretty good at shooting themselves in the foot too.

Windows 7 and 8 and 10 do the exact same shit!
This just proves how biased people were for Vista. People were still loving XP.

Vista, 7, 8 and 10 are all the same OS with little feature variation and just a different paintjob.
Vista just had problems because the XP (NT5) drivers were incompatible with Vista (NT6). It would be the exact same shit if Win7 came out after XP, everyone would hate it because Win7's drivers would crash all the time. But by the time Win7 came out all the hardware manufacturers already had time to polish the NT6 drivers, at the cost of Vista's success.
>>
>>45447003
This is true. Same as people hate on Windows 8 for the Start menu but the performance is great.

The performance is without a doubt better than 7, but the start menu was a regression. And on Vista, no feature regression occurred related to XP. Vista was better in every way except performance.

Also when I got 7 on my desk and laptop was the first time I could actuallyinstall my AMD gpu drivers without trouble

I don't mind the start menu.

The thing I hate most about Win8 is the regression to Win3.1 graphics when we had such gorgeous visuals on Vista and 7.

Ignore anyone who doesn't pirate Windows regularly.

go to softicle to get your iso. I verified the hash with the MSDN and it was correct(win7 pro, win8.1 and server 2012R2). Also, to those who ask if softicle is legit: I've bought many keys from them with no problem. The dude, adrian, is pretty nice and seems like an honest guy. He said they get the keys in various ways, most commonly from recycled/upgraded PC's; things like that. ONE time I got the 'this key has been activated'(which required a automated call to activate), adrian sent me a new key in mins and apologized. I used both keys.

They used to do paypal, but paypal doesn't support 'intangible items' so they switched to google wallet or bank transfer.

re: your link... that looks ok but what are you specifically asking? 32bit vs 64bit?

Windows install is pretty damn easy, it'll ask for the key just use whatever adrian gives you.

Also, FWIW I only buy keys for work... really, daz loader has never caused me issues and I've probably used it a good ~30 times. You literally do it once and that's it. FUCK KMS/other solutions, Daz just werks.

Those is the only smart responses in this thread I've seen so far, specifically the first one.
Really, a MAK key can be found via two-three clicks through Google and activated via two command lines(which too can be found through same Google routine) and a 5 minute long Skype call(tip - pretend to be from the United Kingdom, insured to be toll-free there, at least from my personal tests). The only reason why it did not become the dominant piracy method and even known at all is because modern masses are clinically afraid of command line interface.

the worst part of Vista was that it loved to pup up UAC messages hidden under the window you were trying to do things in. Also the indexer and defragmenter were constantly accessing the disk but never seemed to get anywhere. I had one Vista box for 4 years and it never finished a background defragment on its own.

Also the USB drivers were broken enough that I could never get my iPhone to sync to it.

Maybe it would've been more acceptable with a SSD but waiting around for Vista to get its shit together got old pretty fast.

When it comes to Windows piracy you can either:
1) Download pure free .iso from Microsoft and install rootkit-bound activator. Antiviruses block them for a reason, regardless of what activator developers tell you. Illegal.
2) Pirate rootkit-infected activated images instead of activating them yourself. Illegal.
3) Download pure free .iso from Microsoft and every six months waste an hour or so trying to find a non-expired Windows activation keys.
4) Download pure free .iso from Microsoft and use permanent MAK activation method.
Which one seems to be the most preferred to you, huh?

I'm your saviour, here's my pasta:

ATTENTION:
Usage of GNU/Linux is strongly advised.

Microsoft Windows is non-free software. Read more at https://www.gnu.org/gnu/gnu.html

1. Download OFFICIAL windows .iso from Microsoft themselves:
https://sites.google.com/site/linuxlablibrary/windows-iso
(You probably want Win7 Ultimate)

2. Activate with Daz Windows Loader
Download from here:
http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/9880595/Windows_Loader_v2.2.2-Daz

Check with the md5sum from here first:
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/54168-Windows-Loader-Download?p=120996&viewfull=1#post120996

If you can find a legit Windows 7 Enterprise .iso (which has the same features as Ultimate) you can install that and activate it with Microsoft Toolkit if you want. Ultimate doesn't work with Microsoft Toolkit though, only Daz.
