So it's a given that most of you guys download films and
Images are sometimes not shown due to bandwidth/network limitations. Refreshing the page usually helps.

So it's a given that most of you guys download films and tv shows illegally.

I'm curious though, do you just watch and delete or do you hoard it on a hard drive? Seems a bit risky to have a hard drive full of evidence of your indiscretions
>>
I have an NAS server with a that stuff.
>>
It's safer to keep it rather than download it every time you want to watch. People get caught by getting their IPs logged while they're actively torrenting, so the less time you spend downloading the better.
>>
>>45437504
True, but when the police seize your computer surely it would be best not to have 700GB of stolen movies on there
>>
>Hoard
>takes up too much space on HDD and causes an update to corrupt windows
>find out Linux won't boot because windows fucked with it somehow during an update
>lose everything
>repeat

I only ever save the minimum to my external and I always regret it.

Living in the netherlands. I download, watch, delete, repeat.

My ISP couldn't care less.
The police couldn't care less.
My government couldn't care less.

You mean an NSA server amirite?
>>
>>45437468

encrypt your hard drive
>>
>>45437468

You only get in trouble for distributing.

It's legal to own digital copies of things you've purchased and I will always swear that I own all that porn legitimately and it's stored at a relatives house out of country.

Are people really this dumb? Downloading a movie is a civil matter, the police would not give a shit
>>
>>45437607
But the government can jail you for not revealing your passwords
>>
have 1 1tb hdd full of movies and last week i bought another one
luckly it's downloading at the same pace i get the money to buy a new one
>>
>>45437622
>Downloading a movie is a civil matter

And what's to say that the defendant wasn't hoarding all these illegally downloaded movies in order to start up a piracy disruption operation and using the proceeds to fund terrorism and child exploitation? Your honor, I submit that there is no reasonable explanation for having such a cache of pirate material except to generate illegal revenue from it.

>not storing it on an external hdd you have buried in your backyard with a mini remotely controlled explosive device installed in case the feds come a knockin

>alternatively stored in the walls of your house

You gotta do it right if you're gonna do it
>>
>>45437667
The limit is 15gb, then you get charged with distribution.
police caught me with almost 60gb in my car once, when i said it was for personal use they forced me to watch it all.
>>
>>45437775
So, what happened afterwards?
>>
>>45437667
Do you understand how this whole anti-piracy thing works? Your IP gets logged by third party anti-piracy companies working for copyright holders. They then notify your internet provider to give out your home address information. 90% of the time, it stops there. Your ISP sends you a warning and that's it. 10% of the time, you will get a letter with a fine. Only if you get busted by the same copyright holder after the first offense, you can get sued and even then, the police is never involved in it.
>>
>>45437841
So what happens if the police raid your home on other matter, seize your computer as a matter of course, and then discover 9001 illegally downloaded movies on it?
>>
>>45437865
If the police raid your home on other matters, pirated movies should probably be the least of your worries because the police doesn't just raid homes for trivial offenses.
>>
>>45437841
You Amerifats get fined for torrenting? Holy fucking shit, you really are just viewed as obedient consumers by private power. Start a damn revolution if you have any shame.

>>45437940
I'm from Germany actually. Which to my knowledge used to have the harshest laws against piracy in both the EU and the US.
>>
I watch and delete copyright material.

If I had a NAS I would probably store it.
>>
>>45438019
Ah sorry. Still, it is surprising.
>>
>>45437887
They raid the wrong homes accidentally all the time
>>
>>45438140
this happens exclusively for public torrent trackers. They just found a way to get idiots to pay money out of fear.

Here is your reply

I hoard because HDDs are cheap and torrents doesn't last forever.
>>
>>45437865
>getting busted for locking children in your basement
>I hope they don't touch my PC and discover the entire pirated Seinfeld series!
Well, at least some big company will not charge you for gazillion dollars on top of you going to prison.

>>45438172
Where? Holy shit, even people from 3rd world countries don't have to fear random police raids like it was some kind of natural disaster.
>>
>>45437667
>implying intent without proof thereof

nope.
>>
>>45438229
Well it doesn't happen any longer. In Germany there were literally millions of children being sued for thousands of $ due to torrenting so thanks to that, since 2013 we now have a law that caps the fine copyright holders can demand from first time offenders.
>>
>>45437468
i cant find the download button on my keyboard so i don't download anything
>>
How come I don't see any topic on what happened to filestube yesterday, by the way? No one cares that the only remaining search engine for one click hosters is done for?
>>
>>45437528
They're not going to seize your computer for pirating movies.
>>
>>45439148
You need to buy a mechanical keyboard.
