If you live in murica or western jewrope there's no point in getting a mid-range card anyway, when a high end one only costs like $50 more.

R7 265/270 are faster.
The best GPU are the Novidya ones which go up to GTX 980, therefore the most midrange GPU is the GTX 490, but the GT 510 is only a bit higher and even better.
