'Master race' kek. This is an actual OpenSUSE developer.

Xubuntu just because Xfce dwm

Every distro has at least one developer that looks like that or worse.

I tried when I got my x201.
Using Windows 10 on it now.

Windows 7 and Kubuntu dual-boot

I use xubuntu for the lightness. Reminds me of how ubuntu was distributed years ago. Having debian base seems key for easy installation of packages on linux.
>>
>>45407739
Maybe but the average SUSE employee looks like this. Look up some photos from OpenSUSE conferences.

Instead of developing shitty software, going into space, and doing fuck else, Shuttleworth should be working on reinstalling apartheid in his shitty country.

what the fuck does it matter what they look like? they could have sloth from the fucking Goonies as a dev for all I care, as long as they put out a good product, which they do, that all I care about

I do. Because it just werks.

Yes.

Ubuntu is literally the only good distro which is out.

It matters to some. Doesn't make Novell look like a very professional company. It's why most cooperations choose Red Hat over SUSE.

The only distro that does not freeze when I change brightness of my shitty dell laptop.

Ubuntu is great for making your start in the linux world, it sorta holds your hand and has a easier learning curve. Once you become proficient with ubuntu you can move to more technical distros such as debian, arch, gentoo etc.

Ubuntu is pretty straightforward in installation. It will ask if you want to dualboot or format your HD. It even asks you how much of HD you want to give to each OS.

>>
>>45407563

Yup. I prefer it to other distros due to the PPA's (such as zfsonlinux, Numix theme), and because I'm used to Debian package management. Also the LTS release cycle suites me.

I don't use Unity though. I install from the mini CD and use Gnome Flashback w/ Compiz. I use a few gsettings tweaks to make everything the way I like it before installing Numix. Also compiz-settings-manager is sweet (set shortcuts for workspaces, enable alt-tab, etc).
>>

I use Kubuntu on my gaymen rig. I'm not 100% sure but I think that makes me a top-tier faggot. I don't care I still like it. I also use wingdings 7 on my school/general laptop

>>45407732
Just noticed you have two trash bins
>>
>>45407563
Almost. I use Debian Testing with the E19 DE.

I prefer rolling release over Ubuntu or Debian Stable's release cycle, and I've had the occasional broken/fucked up package back when I used Arch. So far Debian Testing is perfect for me.

I did this. After that I sort of got tired of the shitty font rendering and having to do shit that shouldn't have to do so out of laziness and OCD I switched back to Ubuntu. I love Red Hat based distro's though and I keep them on my servers.
>>
I use Ubuntu just for the font rendering and because Unity is pleasant to work with if you get to know it. I'm getting tired of Canonical not updating their shit so I might go back to debian, because i hear debian's font rendering isn't that bad.

gnome is definitely my new favorite DE. It used to be pretty shit and it still doesn't work that well on old hardware but ever since I got a new computer nothing beats it.
I used to use debian and arch and shit but I ended up coming back to ubuntu because I like to spend less time fucking around with stupid shit like fonts and drivers that should just work.

>"more technical distros"
If you really wanted to understand how linux worked, you'd be either reading a book on operating systems or making your own linux flavour, not typing up make and make install and editing cflags.

The purpose of computation is automation. Your computer is just another x86-64 or ARM machine, it doesn't need coddling.

I do, but I'm not a big fan of Unity.
Only with GNU/Linux can I keep an OS on a USB hard drive and boot from it on any other computer and know it will just work.

I only use Mint Mate (basically Ubuntu without Unity). I quickly test other distro, but I was impressed with Bodhi

I do, but mostly because I'm new to it and reading books about it, so I want everything to be exactly for easy learning.
Also hate unity what a piece of shit, I find Cinnamon to be way better.

I use Xubuntu.
