what add-ons do you use on Firefox?

And it's getting depressing that for the past 2 years or so the addons people have hasn't changed.

I hate to say it but developer attention seems to be focused on Chrome, considering µBlock and HTTPS Switchboard.
>>
>>45393339
/g/ has always been split on whether it's worth switching to a fork over purely idealogical reasons.

The important thing with the add-on is that the lists get updated. Which is independent of the add-on. I can't think of a reason to not switch other than laziness.
>>
Where does disconnect save it's whitelist/blacklist

If I whitelist a site, uninstall the addon, then reinstall the addon, that site remains whitelisted.

My OCD doesnt like not knowing how this operates.

Even after I've uninstalled it, and am using Privacy Badgers (made by the HTTPS Everywhere company). Honestly it just looks nicer, but I have no idea if it's doing as good as a job as the other Privacy addons.
>>
>>45393571
Ghostery, Disconnect and other such tracker blockers are pointless if you are using AB* with anti-tracking lists.

Privacy Badger is kind of unique since it supposedly learns from your browsing what's tracking you and then adjusts the lists. But I still wouldn't bother with it if you already use an anti-tracking adblocker list.
>>
This is your daily reminder that using more "privacy" addons just makes it easier for the Jews to fingerprint you.

So...am I good with these then?

I'm not even sure what I can and should be blocking.

I mean ads, yes. But I guess tracking cookies are the only other thing, right? And Firefox only allows cookies from sites I've visited, so thats good. And I clear them every now and then anyway. I'm not even sure why I should be blocking cookies if I clear them so often anyway.

It's not like I'm truly private, my IP still shows my location, though nothing I do online is really that sensitive, besides banking and the fact that my email contains my full name.

Those are the same filters I use for adblock except I have warning removal list unchecked and I have the anti-adblock killer script for greasemonkey. You can look into BetterPrivacy for LSO's.

Alternatively you can set Flash's folders in appdata to read only so you won't get cookies.

Can someone explain useragent addons? Isn't the best way to hide just to use the most popular version of the browser?

And how do I use refcontrol for flash items that I can't right click into to see the url? e.g. xhamster.
>>
>>45396589
xhamster doesn't need a referer header? I don't send one and i just tried it; worked fine. In fact I'm pretty sure refcontrol can't change the behavior of flash plugin viz sending referer header anyway.
