I think so. Apple certainly is, some of their new laptops just dont have a cd drive and OS X is phasing out live cd support. And if history is any indication, Apple usually sets the standard that all the cheap asian companies end up following.
USBs are better in virtually every way, they're reusable, have much better mobility, have more space.
Except game cds maybe, but most of us torrent anyway so who cares.

You can argue that it's still useful for people in Australia or rural areas with very low bandwidth caps, but all the game companies who used to distribute things on CD/DVD are still tooled to produce lots and lots of CD/DVDs.
Think of the logistics and sunken cost involved in switching to USB, especially since games usually don't take up more than 4 DVDs of space (not that many people are distributing full games on more than 1 DVD anyway).

If you have the bandwidth to pirate, you have the bandwidth to legally download the game (almost always an option now, I can't think of any game that doesn't), so that isn't why people pirate games. This is a discussion about physical distribution. Unless you buy your pirated games from some guy on your block who sells them on USB, your comment is irrelevant. If that IS what your comment is about, people don't generally pirate that way.

Actually their very first case was mini-ITX. An all-aluminum predecessor to the Node304, the Array and Array R2 (2-slot update) were OEM'd by Lian Li. Neither case is available anymore.
