Why do you use lightbulbs of the same color temperature throughout the day? Do you hate your circadian rhythm?
>>
>>45206098

Until multi-colour, efficient LED bulbs with good brightness don't cost 100 billion dollars, I'll use sunlight during the day and warm fluros during the night.
Thats why.
>>
Who the fuck uses light bulbs during the day? Also, I only use 40w incandescent bulbs.

>his lightbulbs aren't automagically scheduled to change
>he doesn't have dynamic lighting setups
>his lightbulbs don't wake him up in the morning with a slow fade to 100% brightness
>his lightbulbs don't easy out the day with a slow fade to 0%

Do you hate life? Tell me OP, why are you such a fag?

Circadian rhythm
ahah
that's a good one

I've ruined it with a few years of biphasic sleeping patterns, naps, all-nighters, sleeping for 14 hour straight, and other such things.
>>
>>45206370
And I'm going to tell my company to change out all the fluorescent lights in the building because I'm a pussy and need muh circadian rythms?

I have the sun do that for me.

I'm sure the front windows at best buy bring in plenty of light.

How does it feel to not have a job? (Or have an afternoon/evening shift, or just live in lower latitudes, I guess).
>>
>>45206098
I don't use lights during the day. And I can't stand white lights, it looks artificial and cripples visibility by understating differences in contrast via the colors it brings out.

Could be the visual snow, but a lot of LED lighting just makes things more difficult, irritating, and surreal (in a negative sense) feeling. Subtle, but ever present.
>>
>>45206412
>I have the sun do that for me.

I'm sorry, what? You want me to make my lightbulbs darker at night.... when I need them... to see. It kind of defeats the whole point of light bulbs, doesn't it? The whole point is that you get day-time illumination at night. Without this, it's completely fucking pointless you mongoloid.

Do you have opaque windows or something?

Don't forget that some of us don't see sun for a good 3-4 months during winter. But on the other hand, the reverse applies on summer.

During the day you have the sun to light your room, so why would you need lights that change?
Even then your monitor is going to upset your circadian rhythm a hell a lot more than your household lighting, which is likely 3500k.

In before "b-but muh flu.x", Unless you are completely disabling the blue channel on your monitor, you are still having blue light pumped into your eyes at all times.

With over 14 million colors to choose from, Phillips Hue™ offers more of an advantage to any other lightbulb on the market to assist in any tasks.

Our homes have changed radically over the past century. So why do we still use lighting that's based on 19th century technology? Philips hue lighting can change your decor, keep your home safe, help you relax or focus and much, much more.

Sylvania, GE, and others are producing and selling a ton of the new general purpose 28/43/53/72 watt halogen incandescent lamps. Halogen incandescent lamps are still the overwhelming standard for automotive headlights. Plenty of other types of halogen incandescent lamps are still in production and being sold in the US.

Really the only incandescent lamps that have been banned so far are the classic 40-100 watt lamps. More bans are scheduled a few years down the line, though (2017-2020, if I recall correctly).
>>
>>45206895
I'll take that as a no then.
>>
>>45206149
$49.99 is like a 100 billion dollars to you? I agree it's a bit for a lightblub that could have otherwise cost $0.50 but let's be real here.
>>
>>45206098
Higher than 7300k is eye cancer inducing
>>
>>45206907
Why are they being banned? Cause the only thing I could think of is with car headlights causing people to lose their night vision while driving in the dark and someone with halogen lights comes my way.
>>
>>45206932

You mean LEDs? Halogen scatters light in all directions
>>
>>45206933
No car headlights are being banned whatsoever. The current and future bans are just for "general purpose" household lamps. It's all about efficiency but it really comes down to greed and environmentalists who don't understand lighting or electricity production.

Most cars have had halogen incandescent headlights since at least couple decades ago and proper low beams really shouldn't be any more blinding than any modern car headlights have ever been.

>>
>>45207004
It's true that LEDs are inherently more directional than incandescent filaments, but in applications with reflectors like flashlights car headlights it's often easier to direct/control the light from a tiny halogen incandescent filament than an LED.

>You have to buy them all at once or else the effect on your sleep will be lost.

Switch the main lighting off in the evening.
Make the hues warmer.

Not that it even matters when you're watching TV or sitting behind a computer screen.
>>
>>45213290
They are getting cheaper but they still aren't worth it.
The price of one LED bulb is equal to its equivalent fluorescent and a few decades of electricity to power it.
>>
>>45213290
I actually spend more on incandescent lighting (including the electricity cost) than I would with LED lighting (maybe not the Hue, but at least the basic Philips LEDs).

It's about the guaranteed flawless light quality (no worries about CRI, tints, flickering, PWM, etc.) and the fact that there aren't any good LED replacements for 150 watt incandescent lamps.
