Listening to the DT770, DT880 and DT990 made me reminisce about this one time I went to my pot dealer's place in college. I didn't have a lot of money at the time, but I wasn't completely broke either, so while I couldn't afford top-shelf chronic, I didn't want to settle for Mexican brick weed either. However, I was incredibly sad to learn that my dealer, at the time, had no mids for me, only Mexican and chronic. This intense disappointment over a lack of mids was exactly like my experience listening to the aforementioned Beyerdynamic headphones, an experience I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.

HD558 are the best headphones within twice their price range and have great bass and clarity as well as a balanced sound signature, excellent comfort, strong, flexible durability, a large soundstage and great positional accuracy. They also don't need an amp. They are close to the perfect headphones.

My AKG K240s always lose the sound in the right ear, and I have to go and open them up and resolder them. It happens every couple of weeks, and I've had them for years, I must have done it easily over 20 times, and it's getting annoying, and I'm running out of clean wire to solder. Any ideas how to fix them for good? I'm half considering gluegunning everything but then if it breaks again I'm fucked.
>>
>>44656135
Well that sucks. The shitti hifi shop near me doesn't have them so I couldn't try a pair on. Thanks for the help. What would be the closest pair (in terms of design, and decent bass response but nothing too ridiculous) in a similar price range?

my girlfriend is looking for WIRELESS headphones in that price range. There are so many good headphones she could have gotten in that range but she will absolutely not accept wired headphones. She wants them wireless and with lots of bass. She also says that they have to be pleather/leatherette or whatever its called and they cant be velour or any fabric because it makes her ears/side of face itch. Help me /g/. Does anything like this exist?

XL pads make these blanket and coffee tier comfort. I'm talking 7+hours of comfort.

Somehow improve the sound too. They open them up a bit which improves clarity. Something about the increase in cup volume.

I want to buy one of these and I've been reading mixed reviews on the earbuds. (For some possible bait, google "sansa earbuds" and check out the first result from head-fi.)

Are the earbuds good enough for being on the go, or should I invest in some decent IEM's?

It has a bass boost, though not a large one, and its treble is louder than its bass. I wouldn't call it "really bass-heavy."

Reminder that Sennheiser even beat STAX at their own game. 20 years later STAX still havent taken home the crown.

if you want a something youre going to not give a shit about breaking while you go for a run or whatever it's a better alternative than most phones. you could also spend $10 more and get an unactivated nokia 520 that has a touch screen and you can surf the interwebs and get some apps but youd be giving up a 3-4 day battery.
