Also my T400 has a red tinted screen once I install any Intel driver be it outdated but working Lenovo drivers or new but broken for OpenGL Microsoft drivers. It changes to normal if I bump the screen color settings but then after a second it changes back to red-ish and ignores all colors. What be happening?

Firstly, thinkpads are a laptop series, and range from 12" tablets to 17" workstations, there is not "the thinkpad"
But to answer your question, all made in the past 5 years will play 1080p video fine
My x200 is 6 years old and plays 1080p blu-ray rips fine, I only get problems when I try play them fullscreen on my external 1440p monitor

My X220 recently had a problem where the left most part of the screen would distort depending on what angle the screen was tilted. It was a clearly defined section of the screen, which google told me was a monitor issue. I've replaced the panel and it works fine now, but jesus christ the thing was built in September 2012, I got it 6 months later, there was only 1 cycle on the battery and it appeared to be brand new. It had experienced light use, only a few trips.
I wish IBM had never given it all up.

My x220 developed distorted bright spots on the screen after a few months. I found a bunch of people on a forum saying they had the same issue and Lenovo was asking $700 to fix it, blaming it on misuse, so I never even tried. It's not really a big deal, I only use it at school, but kinda lame. Thinkpads just ain't built like they used to be.
