to some degree, you have a 180 degree field of view and can only see at a certain number of organic "pixels", so it doesn't really make sense for visual media such as videos to exceed that.

It will eventually become like traditional media today. You have a handful of companies that own, essentially, every piece of media there is. Every TV station, every movie studio, most major record labels, are all owned by the same 5 companies.
