What classes is /g/ enrolled in for the fall?

OOP class (required
Formal lang and Automata
Computer Algorithms

I might swap the algorithm class for software quality and testing.

I seriously hate math.
>>
>>43141405
Just starting so I'm just taking some beginning programming classes, and a networking class (required for programming degree). Also taking an intro to game dev/design class for the hell of it. Couldn't fit anything else there, anyway.
>>
>>43142865
I don't hate math, sometimes it gives quite a bit of joy, but at some point I had to admit that I'm just not very good at it.

I'd take math over English classes any day. I fucking hated Composition.

Thinking about dropping either computer architecture (since I barely passed the first one) or numerical modeling (since the prof teaching it was the prof who taught babbys first numerical modeling, and he's kind of a shit teacher). Which does /g/ hate more?

It would be SIGNIFICANTLY faster if I had a car, but I can't drive and I highly doubt I could afford a car (initial cost, upkeep, and insurance). As for going to a different school, this one gave me the most money to attend so I thought it would be the financially responsible choice for my future.

On the bright side, I can operate on less sleep for longer than most people could with a decent nights rest. It took a bit to get that way but I find that it gives me an edge when I have large, time consuming projects to work on.

Math requirements seem to vary wildly by school. At my school cs majors had to take 3 calculus classes (differential, integral, multivariable,) diff eq, statistics, linear algebra, discrete, combinatorics... I also took a numerical computing class which was a math class with some programming assignments. Covered things like splines and eigenvalue problems.

Some schools seem to really skimp on the math, which is not a good thing in my opinion.

I've got Calc 2, Physics 1, and C#.

I'm kinda worried about Calc 2 because I hear it's the hardest, but I did really good in Calc so hopefully it won't be too bad.

Stupid question: How different is C# from C++? My school's intro to programming class is in C++, so I know a little bit of it, but to get into any of the more advanced programming classes I need to take this C# one.

Oh really? So I guess this class won't be too difficult then. They'll probably expect us to know basic programming shit like arrays and functions, and other stuff we learned in the intro class we're required to take, but I'll bet my ass that most people won't remember simple shit like that. The first couple assignments will probably be easy review shit.

Try 60-70.
>>
>>43152881
Yeah it's an American Community College, and that dude is kinda a bullshitter. I'm kinda inclined to believe him though, because our school is the type that will let you sign up for as many classes as you want. As long as you pay up, they don't care how hard you fuck yourself taking too many classes or ones that don't matter.
>>
>>43152921
>implying i said it was a full week

12 credits + 40 hours is pretty hefty m8. i barely have time to shitpost on /g/
>>

That is easy shit. Hard is 90-110 hours.
>>
>>43152969
typically when people describe 60-70 hours of a non factory job, they're adding the hours where they sit in their office and browse /g/ and shitpost all day.

i worked at a TTD programming office and most of my day was spent waiting around for assignments, but i clocked 85 hours some weeks.
>>
>>43152963
>Just remember to go into the class with an open mind, don't be one of those douches who thinks they know everything and has an ego.

I'm probably the exact opposite of that guy. I'm not very creative or great at programming, and I'm actually thinking of getting out of CS because I think I lack the coding talent to be great at it. The only reason I got an A in my last programming class was that I'm good at learning languages.

There's also only one of them, meaning the s at the end doesn't indicate plurality. You don't say you went to the gymm, you have psychy 101, or you got western civn.

* note that it's an ambiguous area of english whether to treat mass nouns as plural or singular, so different versions of english have solved the problem differently.

I'm taking history, spreadsheets, business math, and personal finance because I am not a CS major. Also, I'm not taking many classes because I took a bunch in the summer, so I'm going to spend my spare time learning about data science. I'm going to dive deeper into relational algebra, algorithms, learn the python modules, learn more statistics, and watch some free online videos on AI and machine learning. Also, probably learn some more C and operating system stuff.
