How /g/ store video and music? Do you even do it?
Don't know what codecs/format use to do it.
FLAC for audio, that's obvious, but what about movies?
Is 720p in matroska enough? For me it's right - small size up to 5GB, good video quality with nice bitrate and often it contains DTS audio.

192kbit/s mp3 probably isn't surround when it comes to movies, while DTS probably is.
I download 1080p encodes done by good groups from private trackers. Usually at least 10GB per movie, more often than not 15GB per.
FLAC music from what.cd obviously.
Only FLAC because of Rotational Velocodensity. I don't want my music to sound like shit in 5 years :^)

Movies: full BD watch and delete.
I'm going against the grain here,
Audio: 320 CBR or V0 VBR mp3
I've tried FLAC, but that bit of increase in sound quality wasn't enough to justify the bigger file size.
Movies/TV series: usually 720p (preferred file size about 4-6 GB) and for the ones I really like I go for 1080p (10-12 GB)
