Windows 10 is 2 gigs for 64 bit. OSX ibremember recommended 2 gigs for 10.6 so god only knows where they are now.

I have a friend who upgraded in parts from his xp machine. Windows 7 ran fine on his 512mb ddr3 1066mhz ram.
