What kind of specs are on the latitude?
D620?
I have one in storage somewhere and I'm thinking about transplanting an SSD and 4gb+2gb ram into it. Or does it not support that much ram?

>balancing laptop on tower

Doesnt this block some exhausts and just increase the chances of you possibly ruining your laptop by knocking it off and having it fall to the floor and shatter to pieces?
>>
>>45419471
It's a D820 with a centrino duo, 2GB. i use it as a seedbox, so no need for SSD or anything. And I think it's 4GB max.

>>45419480
Well first, I never approach this corner of the desk, so no chance of knocking it, and the case is rather wide so it's not "balancing". Second, it has a magnesium rollcage, so it won't "shatter", the harddrive will lock itself, that's all.

Looking at your desk, it looks like you have very small legs.
>>
Looking to get an amp you /g/uys.

Any recommendations?
Nothing too expensive please.

It is (or should be) standard in any business grade laptop.

I have a Dell D830 with a 128gb MX100 and 4GB of ram. It supports up to 8gb if you update the bios!

How do you like that AT2020 anon?
It's on massdrop right now and I was considering buying either it, or the Blue Yeti once it goes on sale again at 4 on Amazon.

What does everyone think?
>>
>>45420065
been told it's a pretty standard entry level condenser mic. depends what you want it for, just recording your voice? or recording instruments? makes a big difference.

And both, I suppose.

I really like the mic myself, comes out nice and clean.

I've replaced the mouse with a SS Rival, sadly it's the Dota special, but it's all they had around me.

As for the mat, I'm hunting down a quality material desk size mat, but have had no luck yet.
>>
>>45420142

The mic sounds clear, I like it.
But then again I don't really know what to compare it to.

Any idea how the Blue Yeti sounds?

They're both gonna be around 75, so I'm having a bit of a hard time choosing.

And I bet you posted those links just so you can boost your ego a bit more, didn't ya ya phaggot.
>>
>>45420134
for electric guitar/bass it'd be non-ideal(you can make it work ok though). for acoustic guitar, probably good. for voice, probably pretty decent. I have an MXL 991, which is basically the same design of mic, but a different brand. it also depends on your audio interface to your pc, as long as that's not too shit, then you would get good quality. also if it's USB it'd probably be fine too, never used a USB condenser though.
>>
>>45419443
Which Dell laptop is that?
>>
>>45420209
Look up Xtrac pads on Newegg. Mine, in the picture, is 36" x 18" and was only around $20. Covers the majority of the desk you'll be touching, keeping it a nice warmer temperature. They have smaller ones, I think this is their biggest. It was 11/10 for the money.
>>
>>45420222

I don't, there is someone who frequents the mic threads who has one, but the threads happen every couple of days now at most.

Could always track down some samples. I personally don't know any locations to find them, I would avoid youtube for sample checking.
>>
>>45420242

Like this one right here?

http://www.amazon.com/XTracPads-Ripper-XXL-Desktop-Gaming/dp/B000HTDBWI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417466726&sr=8-1&keywords=Xtrac+pads

I'll measure my desk to make sure it's not overly long and order it right now.
>>
>>45420224

Well I don't currently have an amp, which is something I'm going to pick up once I buy some bookshelf speakers and a mic. So my audio interface is presumably shite.

Hmmmmmm.

>>45420245
Yeah, I'll do a bit of research. Thanks anon.
>>
>>45420222
it's gonna be about the same for both, as far as clarity, assuming they both have windscreens, and are properly amplified, no background emf, etc.

Yeah, that's the one I have right now. Check NewEgg, like I said, might be a few bucks cheaper and free shipping. They aren't too hard to cut either, if you want to cut it to size. It just might tear/rip/fray easier if you cut it.
>>
>>45420266
>>45420288
if you're grabbing a USB model it probably has a built in amp that will meet the mic's needs which means you'd be fine unless you're using like, a laptop or something that doesn't have its usb ports powered, in other words, don't worry about it.
>>
>>45420304

>newegg

They are currently sold out, but I don't mind paying the extra $10 on amazon, I have prime so 2 day shipping is free anyways, so it should balance out close enough.

Thank you very much.

Also just a little bit about the mouse, I keep the LED's off, because they bug the living crap out of me.
>>
>>45420306

I'm the one with the AT2020 in the thread >>45419990

Mines the USB model, which you can hear here >>45420142

Mic doesn't pick up noise up to about 60%, but once you get above that rating you start to pick up background noise/static.
>>
>>45420346
If you are in the market for a quality mouse, that works very well for gaming too (some don't like the lack of 20,000 buttons), check out my mouse, too. It's around $50 on Amazon. Logitech Performance MX. I need to get a new one, but mine is four years old and has been heavily abused. I'm surprised it lasted this long, with what I put it through actually. The only mouse out there I'd buy right now.

There is a lot of wood occupying the picture... At least I don't have wooden panelboards for walls.

My new setup is going to have a wooden desk, again. And a wooden shelf above it, with my wood enclosed speakers as you see. But I'm adding in a crapton of silver-aluminum accents, which will modernize it a bit, hopefully.

I know that one is 16:10, is it also 8+2 bit?
I've been using my 47" tv as a replacement for months now, so, I think I'll be alright using only 6+2 bit panels for now. I'm pretty sure my TV is only 8 bit also. (LG 47LM6700, can't find out for sure.)

That's a good deal you got.

And no, I didn't. I saw it happen, and it was truly an accident. A dumb one, and a loss of my $800 panel... But, whatever. She didn't get hurt.
