Thinking about getting a Kindle Paperwhite
I've got one - piece of shit. The battery lasts ages (haven't charged it in three months) but format support is pretty shit. Still, I found it in a skip with box and case so i just took it. Better than nothing, better than reading books on my chinkphone

What formats can you use? Also do you just download ebooks for free and put them on the device?

I bought the first Paperwhite when it came out, but can't offer any comparison to other readers aside from my old Kindle 3 (really great). The interface is really annoying, mostly due to amazon bloat. You can "jailbreak" it to remove that shit and get PDF support which a lot of people seem to want. My early model also has the back-light leaking around the edges problem common on 1st models. Not inconsistency in the screen but noticeable glowing spots on the seems of the bezel. I don't think it's that distracting and I believe it's not an issue on the newer ones.
Don't know why format support is really an issue since you can convert any ebook format to .mobi in Calibre. Works fine with every legally acquired file I've ever used.
tl;dr I really like the Kindle 3 and Paperwhite and would recommend if you change the shitty interface. Format support isn't an issue just convert your shit.

How do the pdfs covert from mobi? Do they look fine no glitches and shit?
