Does this Life pattern have a name? I can't find anything like it on the wiki or in the Life Lexicon.
I doubt that I've invented the first still life to be infinitely expandable both horizontally and vertically. If it does turn out that that's the case, then I move we name it Anon's Cornfield in my honor. Or maybe Anon's Chessboard?
It's called a beehive

though I wasn't aware that it could be expanded that way. Maybe you should add it to the lifewiki.
I prefer the name cornfield, but I guess 'beehive' readily suggest a related name.
Ever heard of gardens of eden? Probably yes but if not, check them out

I was considering calling it "Anon's Garden" but I didn't want it to be confused with the concept of gardens of Eden.
Also, although it may be related to the beehive, it's still a still life of its own, even under the strictest definition of the term "still life", because it's all connected.
If we call this a beehive, it is a bunch of beehives tessellated and sharing edges. You can't partiton it into smaller beehives without copying all those shared cells. That's pretty far away from a basic beehive, especially compared to the "beehive with tail" (which is also considered its own strict still life).
If we want to hilight some kind of relationship between the pattern I discovered and the basic beehive, we should call it "Anon's Honeycomb".
