Anybody using Antergos?
I tried to install it a few months back, but the installer was absolutely broken and no matter what I did it kept throwing errors mid-install, so I gave up trying. I just fired the installer up in a VM and it seems okay now, so I'm tempted to give it one last chance.
>>54894092
Go for it. Its basically Arch with an easier install.
had trouble with it last time i tried it too.
luks setup wouldn't go through at all.
>>54894092
I will try it later today
So /g/, would it be dangerous to use my laptop outside?
>>54894058
for too long in direct sunlight, maybe.
in the shade like a normal human being? no
If it's a macbook, yes

how are we supposed to know?
So, /g/. I been using linux for quite a while now, but mainly Terminal only for work related stuff.
In the next day, i'll upgrade my home desktop PC changing from a HDD to a SSD and, well, i plan to install linux for a change this time.
Coming from debian. What options on distros do i have for a desktop pc? I want something not so bloated so i can install shit individualy, and try and match.
I was thinking lubuntu.
No, ill not install gentoo
>>54894056
Lubuntu is a good choice. Even more minimal would be Ubuntu minimal or just straight up Debian testing. Lubuntu works out of the box, if that's important to you.
>>54894056
Yes, ubuntu is good. Just remember to install gstreamer/pulseaudio
Well I hate Ubuntu. Everyone does secretly, even the Ubuntu Developers/Users. At least thats my point of view.
I rly like Debian, but recently I switched to Fedora. Both working fine for me.
what are some future technology that will change the very way we live?
how long are we from being able to download stuff directly to our brains for example?
come on, when will learning things become obsolete?
Gentoo installer

AR will
VR is a stepping stone, but has its exclusive uses.
I will never interface my brain with any network that isn't personally regulated
Hi /g/,
Last time I made a C++/Qt thread it went well. So I've decided to make another one as most threads here are shit. Discuss your C++/Qt development, as well as KDE related subjects here.
Since last time, I've gotten the basics of C++ down, but the interaction between kdevelop and qt designer has been troublesome. Anybody know a decent tutorial on it? KDE's wiki is a mess on this part.
I guess you guys really want me to bump with the cute dragon.
Come on guys, I know some of you like KDE.
Xfce
Why shouldn't I buy a 2i2?
I guess because audiobox usb is cheaper?
But I've had some issues with buzzing with mine.
>>54894015
Wait for it to go on sale for $99 and save $50. Great mic pre's and works well as a DAC. Good support on both OS X and Windows.
>>54894046
Your Audiobox?
>>54894119
I found a cheap NIB one on Craigslist.

Can someone help me install cde on freebsd. I follow the instructions at https://sourceforge.net/p/cdesktopenv/wiki/FreeBSDBuild/ but when I start it, it won't start up, it just keeps me at the login screen
Nobody cares. Go back to your irc circlejerk. Linux won over 10 years ago.
>>54894162
It's not a competition, shithead. OpenBSD is not a product being sold.
And even if it was, most Linux distros today include (depend on?) software authored by the OpenBSD project.
Does anyone knows a good smartphone that has one of the best voice call quality. Its seems that its not the case these days with the latest smartphones.

Where do you guys register your domains? Namecheap, Hover or Gandi? I'm torn between the three.
Namecheap:
>few tlds
>few features (only forwarding)
>good privacy protect
Gandi
>many tlds
>many features (custom parking domain, email, forwarders, saving old zones)
>bad privacy protect
Hover
>many tlds
>no...

using namecheap for a .xyz, all is good.
Didn't know about hover, will investigate.

GoDaddy because like getting fucked in ass by renewal fees.
Their support is good though. The problem is have to need support. For domains though its straightforward.

So did he do some shit or was he falsely accused? Remember months ago almost a year ago when Linus was worried about someone planning to falsely accuse him of rape from the sjws?

Will post the Europa site referendum if top many people decry fake
>>54893375
the issue with this is that European services are tied too closely with global services. the EU knows this and are trying to strongarm world speech law, similar to how the US does with DMCA
>>54893375
It was funny until it lasted

So pretty much only removing hate speech where laws do not permit
