Why does /g/ have regular AMD vs nVidia flamewars?
Better question - why are you a fan of a graphics card vendor in the first place? It's a fucking graphics card. Buy whichever one is fastest at the price you're willing to pay. The End.
The problem is that Nvidia is a market dominating quasi-monopolistic company that does all sorts of shitty things but usually has the better products. This means people want AMD to succeed but often don't want to buy AMD.
Meanwhile, Nvidia shills the living fuck out of this place with bullshit like >drivers
Because there's a lot more that goes into buying a GPU.
Performance varies in different games, engines and technologies.
Features.
Software.
Cooling/Noise/Power consumption.

(I'm still bitter at Nvidia's faultily designed and specced graphics cards melting laptops and them never owning up to it and fixing it. That shit is basically inexcusable)

Is it possible to find a youtube channel about technology that it doesn't suck?
>>54895644
Only if rich guys that has no interest on free parts and gaining money from it
aka no one
>>54895644
If you know something the host doesn't, the channel sucks
If the host has an agenda or is shilling, no matter wether they're payed or not, the channel sucks
If the channel is hosted by an enthusiastic amateur who can't into scientific method, the channel sucks
If the host has to much or too little personality, the channel sucks
Too many chances to get disqualified for a youtube channel about technology to ever cater to the autists of this board.

Post your guts. Also for all you insanely clean guts people. How long does it take to clean your case to the point where it looks so picture perfect? I can't bring myself to wipe down every dust filled crevice, just the important bits.

Those keycaps are a little overdone.
I'm looking to buy a TKL ISO DE keyboard with MX reds. I want to put Thick Cherry Caps on it, so the board must have Cherry Stabilizers.
The only board that fulfills these requirments seems to be the CM-Storm Rapid i. It looks pretty decent except for all the LEDs i don't need.
Does anyone know if it's possible for cherry key caps to hit the LEDs when bottoming out? If that's not the case I guess I can live with 88 unecessary LEDs...

Ruby (literally just because I've heard its bloated buggy bullshit) and .NET (because it's bullshit methods used during library calls make the cleanest code written for it preform like spaghetti code written by a 13 year old in BASIC)

How to detect and remove black bars automatically on windows with mpv?
I don't know why latest release crashes on my windows.
This is the same with latest kodi krypton release. :(
Anyway to limit the scale of upscale?
For example, I want 480p video to only upscale 2-3x to 1080, not 4k.
I want 720 to only upscale to 1080 or 1440p not 8K
How do I limit upscale? This is mainly an issue when I watch a shitty low quality 360p video and it upscale it all the way up to 1440 or higher. This takes up so much gpu/computation as a result and starts framedropping

Asking "Hey guys, what's your opinion on x?" is frowned upon.
Wireless is frowned upon.
Headset requests are frowned upon.
Noise isolation ≠ Noise cancellation
If you dislike a headphone suggestion, try giving a better suggestion to whomever asked instead of going "hurr, brand x sucks"

I'm not filling out one of those tedious as fuck forms, so just answer this instead.
I've only ever bought the AT M50's, and I stopped using them quite swiftly due to them, IMO, sounding like shit. I ended up switching to a much better speaker system which I've been using ever since.
However, despite how much I enjoy my speakers, I'd like a comfy as fuck (as apposed to the M50's which felt horrible and clamped my head hard) decent set of headphones, and so far I'm setting my...

Without experience, I have no idea what all the terms and expressions like "tight" or "punchy" mean exactly, maybe I totally misunderstand something going just by intuition. Are there some sample sets I can listen to that emulate various sound signatures?
There are no decent shops nearby where I could just go and try different headphones.

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).

If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™
Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", ultraportable
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap.
>Excellent keyboards - tactile feel and quiet.
>Great durability: chassis uses a magnesium rollcage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels.
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing in the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.
