People will avoid any and all aspects of a product/company if they hate them. Their logic shuts down immediately and become emotional.
Lets escape from this bias and say one good aspect of a company/product that you hate/dislike.

Microsoft.
I acknowledge they do some shady shit, but I also acknowledge they are an amazing company that does amazing things that nobody else does.
Microsoft is a company that is not top-down (or top-down evil, as people love to portrary), but bottom-up.
I subscribe to the idea that the more well-known you are, the more easy you are to hate.

If I'm doing programming, it's easier to get things running and working in Apple like with Windows, but it has similar mandatory tools like Linux OS'

Hi /g/.
I am a standard office drone working in an admin role. I have recently been having issues at work because I struggle to interact with the people in our internal IT department which is hurting my ability to work effectively.
Long story short I am very bad at social interaction and I think I made them dislike me last week. Now tey basically ignore me when I need help

So how is Windows 10 for gaming and overall?
like windows 7 but now with flat design

Good for gaming, bad for privacy and productivity
Just dual boot a few OS's for whatever you need and want

This is a horrible deal. If you're only going to write or program, just get a used thinkpad and install linux on it.

Is it worth going to college if you're pursuing a career in computers? I see a lot of people saying that you can't get by with anything less than a bachelor's degree if you aspire to be anything more than a code monkey, while many people on /g/ insist that you don't need any college, that it's a waste of time and money. I'm not a genius or anything, but is it possible for me to earn a decent living using only the self-teaching method? If so, what are the best jobs for that, and how should I go about learning? I don't want to spend years paying...

First of all probably 80% is not employed in the tech field, idk why you even think to listen to anything people have to say here. Second, when you say going into computers, are you looking to program, design CPUs, be IT, be more specific on your career goals. I'm guessing it's more programming related since you mention self teaching

>idk why you even think to listen to anything people have to say here
I'll admit, I probably give people on 4chan a little too much credit, but I don't trust anyplace else. I like the brutal honesty you get with anonymity.
>are you looking to program, design CPUs, be IT
I'm mainly considering the software side of things, yes. As I understand, designing CPUs and other bits of hardware is the work of a computer engineer, and I'm...

In all honesty, a good portfolio goes beyond a degree.
I have a degree in cs but I'm unemployed. Mostly because I hate networking with people, but still. I won't lie though, you'll get a fair amount of calls with your degree. But calls mean nothing if you suck at interviews.

Hello, /g/. I need a phone. I don't care about browsing the internet, looking at videos, or really doing much on it. All I'll need it for is EverNote, on-the-fly voice recordings, and for listening to podcasts while on-the-go.

WHY
Hi /g/, I got a question. What is better if you are a programmer Ubuntu or Windows. I'm thinking on moving to Ubuntu. But I need your opinion.
Depends what you need to do, if you're just writing and testing code, Ubuntu, if you need specific programs that are only on windows, go Windows.
Or, go with both, dual boot and use what you need at the time.

Google recommends Ubuntu for Android. Even if you need to develop shit specifically for Windows, you can run a Virtual machine.
