>“Free software” means software that respects users' freedom and community. Roughly, it means that the users have the freedom to run, copy, distribute, study, change and improve the software.
How does this protect the developer? For example, a product like Ableton Live (I know it's not actually free SW), doesn't this just mean people can change/redistribute Ableton however they want and Ableton would make no money off those distribution/changes?
>>54934280
yeh, but you couldn't rename a few variables and claim you wrote ableton, since the author has it licensed
free software doesn't work
video games would all be trash under the free software model

I try to resell things for extra cash.
today I got scammed with an old fake $100.
where do you think someone would take it without checking it?
so I could get some money back

It's not worth the risk. Contact the secret service and point them to the buyer.
>>54934295
I mean, if you try to spend it, you'll likely be talking to them anyway, or maimed/killed if you're dealing with criminals. You could just destroy it.

Why does
print("Miles per gallon:", mpg)
return this ('Miles per gallon:', 2.0)
instead of Miles per gallon: 2.0

I pay TWC for 15Mbps, my speeds have been mostly fine since I've lived at my current location (over a year) until the last three days. Would calling and complaining actually do anything?
Are there any other ISPs in your area?

It's bundled with my rent (so I do pay, but indirectly) so I cannot switch. I'll be moving soon and I'm hoping for find another apartment where I'll be free to choose WOW instead.

Why am I not surprised that all the OEMs are priced roughy as much as the founders edition and in a few cases, priced higher.

When something is completely free and still not worth that cost, there's a problem.
I mean, Linux, it's been free since day one, still useless. See how that works?
Why should Windows 10 be any different?

No, but the placebo will be strong.

they're similar tasks using the same equipment, but I doubt the same senses need to be heightened or areas of the brain stimulated, so it's questionable. this is similar to jogging and sprinting, or commuting vs mountain biking, or endurance vs max strength

I think their computer are well made, looks good, comfy, work, good re-sell value. OSX is good, not better or worst. I hate most of their softwares though. Itunes enrages me every time I use it. Also sometimes you cant do shit unless you upgrade/patch then it's slower.

OH MY FUCKING GOD
For the past 3 years, since I built my computer, it's been making a hissing/buzzing noise out of either the headphones or speakers, whichever were plugged in. I noticed this and asked my dad why this was happening (he's a videographer/musician/amatuer sound engineer) and he just told me "speakers just do that sometimes" I thought it was because my soundcard or my motherboard was causing it or something, I didn't think it was fixable.
Well today I finally fixed it. I have a dual monitor setup, where I can switch my 2nd...
