I'm completely stumped.
I stream URL files (MKV, MP4 etc.) to VLC but have absolutely no idea how to get it to stream to my Chromecast.
Is there any effective method to doing this? I've tried so many variations that don't seem to work.
I currently have Windows 8.1. i think 8.1 is really okay but it has some minor bugs here and there for me (for example the desktop icons are being scattered around a bit when i restart the pc, not a major bug but it's there)
Should i change to windows 10 since i can get it for free? I don't want data that is sent into microsoft to slow the performance of my pc and I don't want cortana to be honest but you probably can disable her
Just get whatever you feel comfy using.
Dont ask /g/ if you should use windows/arch/gentoo/ubuntu/osx. it will end up in a debate about which is the meme-st of them all. Just get W10 if you feel like it, its a decent OS to use as a daily driver.
Lets laugh at the idiots who bought the 1080!

So they still use this one single game for their marketing? I know there aren't much DX12 games out there yet, but to constantly quote this one benchmark seems silly. Aren't there other benchmarks or other ways to compare performance apart from this one game?

Serious question about windows 10. I don't come here often so forgive me for my ignorance, but why are people so against upgrading to windows 10? It works smooth, the download was hitchless all of my programs work fine.
To be honest all I see when people refuse to upgrade from XP or 7 or vista or whatever it is people cling to these days is
>"oog oog me not upgrade from rock, rock smash good me not need new rock"
So what's the logic?
Had Microsoft made it optional instead of constantly trying to shove it down peoples throats and then deny constantly trying to shove it down peoples throats, I don't think anyone would care.
How much information is your browser pouring out into the internet?
Pic related is mine
Ha! Im more unique than you are.
Last week I went on trip through web-developer, database companies and so on. Even tho everyone had possibility to chose OS and gadgets from what ever supplier they want, most of them chose Mac's n other Apple products. Why so? Aren't Apple products mainly overpriced and easily beaten by regular PC's?
Hey everyone, I don't usually post on 4chan, but I know you guys are really tech-savvy so I wanted to see if you can help me.
My girlfriend used to have a reddit account (I know you don't like reddit but please just continue reading).
She posted some harmless stuff including pics of herself on some sub about make up or whatever.
Some guy started harassing her for no reason, started bombing all her posts and her inbox, he even made her cry. She is really innocent and has a good heart, she has never done anything bad and this guy started online bullying...

> iPhone designs always leak before they present
> but their source codes are not.
Hint : leakage of design is actually not unintended.
The source code is likely kept on Apple's internal servers on campus, and only select employees within the company have access to it.
The designs, OTOH, have to be sent out to Chinese companies for manufacture, and there's no control beyond that point. Anyone from a factory floor worker to some corrupt manager selling the design for knock-offs can get their hands on the materials.

I want to use if for games, Wii emulation and video rendering.
No. Just don't.
Wait a few months (probably no more than month and a half) and get a custom non-reference version. You get:
>substantially improved cooling
Which means better performance. Going for the founders edition is stupid as fuck, don't do it.
Other than that, looks ok. Might wanna drop some cash into a SSD, but you skip it if you're on a budget.
