Are hard drives obsolete?
Will they be obsolete soon?
Is raid 0 SSDs safe sincethbet just stop writing when at the limit, instead of just failing and losing everything like on a HDDn
Rate my first build /g/. There is no GPU as I plan to get an RX 480 as long as the benchmarks are decent. Also will have to do more research on the monitor, but I like everything else so far.

I'm looking to build a new computer using the smallest case I can. I've compiled a small list of cases less than 30 liters that support a (generally full-length) GPU. Is there any good ones that I've missed?
How would I go about decrypting and ripping js module images that are binary/octet-stream? It's from a web reader. octet-stream means it needs an application such as a browser, right?
/g/ you have a mission;
Create a piece of malware that uninstalls the current OS of the machine completely removing it from the boot options in the BIOS and installs Gentoo. You have 1 week
How would you prepare?
What language(s) would you use?
How late would you stay up every night?
What's the best budget bang for your buck smartphone?
Why are all haxorz movies so cringey?
CSI Cyber and Mr Robot are meh; I mean they sorta got the correct terminologies, but remember the actors and script writers are not hackers themselves, they are actors and script writers.
Ok /g/, what's the deal with hybrid hard drives?
I plan on making a Media PC for TV and shit, and I wan't the speed of a SSD, but i need the capacity of a HDD.
So, I have a friend that works in IT at UVA Medical Center and they're throwing out a bunch of Dell Desktops.
The sticker says Core i5 Windows 7 Professional. He said he could grab like 5 of them for me.
I didn't have time to check the model but the case is relatively small about 6-7 inches wide.
What is the best case scenario as far as CPU? I wanna salvage a decent i5 because I have an FX-6300 right now and single core blows.
I have a file in my PC I just discovered that's password protected, so, /g/entlemen, how does RAR files passwords work? They have to be stored somewhere in the PC right? There has to be a trigger to disable the password? It was last modified 2012, the curiosity is killing me please.
Next time go to /sqt/
RAR files with passwords are encrypted with said password. Without it you can't extract the files. You can however let a bruteforce tool go loose on it, but that can take time, depending the size of the archive, and how much it's compressed.
So /g/, which is it?
How come my USB drives and shit work faster on Linux?
How come I never need to defrag on Linux?
How come my battery life is worse on Linux? (even with powertop and tlp)
How come CLI is popular on Linux but command prompt isn't it windows?
How come manufacturers don't offer Linux laptops with worse specs at a reduced cost to their mainstream products?
Why can't I install Linux on my phone as the primary OS?
>why is it called Linux if it's just the kernel?
Is there a legit program used to crack winrar password protected files? If so what is the name of this program and will /g/ kindly provide the link? I'm sorry but this seems like a dumb question.
Netflix is dead to me, a non US customer.
Unblock.us, Playmo.tv, Borderless Internet, Smartflix... all no longer work. Netflix is hunting down every last VPN or smart DNS service and isn't going to stop any time soon. Due to massive pressure from the copyright industry, Netflix is on the loose, and will even block residential customer IPs if they can. Non US customers get only a tiny fraction of US content, but pay the same price, which is not fair.
I'm turning back to piracy.
My question: what's the best way to have a netflix-like UI with...
