Oh shit, i'll have to check this out.
Nexus 6p
Experia z3c
Or nexus 5x
I'm looking for a good camera and good battery life
>>55083000
6P gets me roughly 36+ hours of light usage (Most I've ever gotten), roughly 18 of average usage and it takes about 6 hours if I'm really using it hard. The fingerprint reader is snappy as is the phone itself, the screen is wonderful though it doesn't get as bright as I would like on a sunny day, Has an actual RGB LED notification light that you can have flash different colors. the USB C is only for the charging speed (USB 2.0 file transfer speeds), Charges to full in about 2 hours with the charger...

5X was a huge piece of shit until the March security update, which I swear to god doubled my battery life, so if you're looking for something smaller than the 6P then that's a good choice too.
z3c is a little dated I feel.
>>55083479
I heard that was bad, but not that bad. I felt none of it on the 6p
My feet are killing me when I sit down at my station after work. I have hard wood floors and the pain is just too much. Do I get a $40 footrest with memory foam or do I just suck it up, embrace the pain?

Let's talk computer security in this thread. What do you use? What do you recomend?
I stick to the old trustworthy malwarebytes. Amd recently stumbled upon this. Heimdal thoughts on it?
I watch Matthew Knight videos for all my cancer needs
Common sense 2016
I have malwarebytes in case I do something stupid, and in the event that I REALLY fuck up, I have everything neatly backed up and ready to restore
>>55082990
I really need to start making backups and storing it on a harddrive. That's where I fuck myself.
How does /g/ feel about apple's swift? Since it can run on gentoo I assume some of you have tried it by now.
I'm curious about it myself. Is it actually worth learning at all?
If it's anything like Go, which you can learn and then be productive in like 2 hours, then I'll give Swift a shit.
It's the future
Does anyone know of any resources for learning Swift quickly, and which don't waste your time with pointless details and hand-holding?
All I need is the gist of the language, and examples.
What mouse cursor(s) do you use /g/
>>55082874
Many'a year ago I used to use the StarCraft 1 cursor on Windows.
These days I use whatever cursor is the default for the OS.
Adwaita.
Breeze is gay.
default because i'm an adult, not a teenage ricer
Are general purpose computers slowly falling out of use?
Nearly all computer users only bought their computers for going on facebook/twitter/etc. and they really do nothing more than sharing pics and stalking people they know IRL.
A computer is something they consider to be a static appliance, so they buy the cheapest one at walmart and then replace it when their "windows gets slow".
To them, a computer is not something you dedicate as a hobby, it is merely a means to an end to view information on the internet.
And a smartphone can do 99% of what they...

>>55082798
I don't see it happening any time soon, mostly because of gaming. It's a shame that it's going to happen, but thank god it won't be any time soon.

Post small or dumb questions here, someone will probably answer you! This thread is for questions that dont deserve their own thread as they would not inspire discussion.
My questions here:
>where can i find windows xp 64 bit with a key
>what spraypaint works good on galvanized steel
What thread do I go to to ask about flight sticks/racing wheels? What about VR shite?
Please don't say /v/.
From Wikipedia : On 28 December 2014, Der Spiegel published slides from an internal NSA presentation dating to June 2012 in which the NSA deemed... privacy tools such... TrueCrypt... as "catastrophic," leading to a "near-total loss/lack of insight to target communications, presence..."
Am I the only one that thinks the gov shut down tc with false claims of security flaws. Also, tc recommends bitlocker, given the recent botnet fiasco with ms, wouldn't this be a play by NSA to get gullible idiots to migrate to a backdoored software?

battlestation threads, theyre all about peripheral stuff like mice, keyboards, and stuff like controllers and all that
Hey /g/ I'm applying for a job online and I have to do this assessment test to prove I'm not a retard.

OnePlus3 vs LG G5, I'm getting a new phone in 1 month and can't decide on which phone is the best buy, here's my requirements
>Must be ≤4GB ram
>Needs to have a long battery life (2800mAh minimum)
>Decent camera and speakers
>1 slot for a extra micro SD card.
My current phone is a Samsung G5 so anything even the slightest bit better is good
Get whatever has a micro sd slot.
Dude for the price you're not gonna beat the op3. All those specs are covered, so there's really no question
if you're a richfag, go for Samsung S7.
If not, OP3
Hey /g/, I need some help. I'm building my first gaming/productivity computer and I have almost everything figured out.
However I need some help choosing a good monitor, and motherboard. I already have an i5 6600k, and at first I don't plan to over clock but may in the future if I need to. Any recommendations for a good motherboard for the 6600k?
Also need a monitor, any sub $250 monitor that is good for the price? Thanks in advance.
Bump again
You can get a good 144hz benq for around that much. If you have a GPU good enough to push 144fps or even a little above 60fps its amazing. Best investment I made waiting until 4k became reasonable and performed well.
As long as your motherboard is z170 it doesn't matter.
Get an IPS monitor if you want 60 hz and a benq 144 hz otherwise
So have you accepted yet that Windows 10 is a pretty good OS?

Nope I'm sticking to my windows 7 I try 10 before did not like it probably in the mid future I'll buy a new laptop with Windows 10 install would keep for now fuck Mc for trying to screw with my new gaming pc build
I'm thinking of building a mini ITX PC, do you have any experience with this? Could you point me in a direction to learn more about this?
>>55082539
Look at the bottom right of that image.
youtube it.
beware, there's V1, 2, and 3, I think.
>>55082585
No I think he's asking about how well the case fits everything, and how well the build quality is on the case itself.
I just built my first OP. I'm using a coolermaster elite 130. I forget what MSI board I got but I got an A10 series AMD with a GTX 660 and a 450 PSU. Th PSU is one of the smaller ones and I had to get a special mounting bracket and everything is so snug because of the A10 stock cooler I got. I've been running it about 2 weeks now and no problems yet. Pretty quiet and easy to take to work to game on. Make sure your cable management isn't shit though. I was so paranoid about everything I monitored temps for first 2 days.
Are coding boot camps worth it /g/?
Is it best to try out Python to see how I feel about doing computer programming?
Is it actually an unspoken prerequisite that you have prior knowledge of programming?
they're pretty cringy to anyone who actually codes because they essentially churn out code monkeys who will spend all day writing unit tests for the actual developers and designers. If you wanna get a feel for coding pick up an intro book on programming (one that focuses on the design of programs rather than a language) and work through the examples, googling anything that you don't understand.
>>55082416
Do you have any good introductory books for Python? I've recently been diagnosed with Aspergers, and I've found my hand eye co-ordination is too bad to work in construction (I'll take way too long to do one job).
>>55082416
I also have another question.
Do code monkeys make a decent living?
Yes, we know everything is already from China but in here we discuss the no/low-name cheap shit you see on Gearbest, AliExpress, eBay and similar sites.
