How asspained will /g/ be if Microsoft buys AMD? I know it's just a rumor, but with AMD showing they have valuable assets at the company now that they've shown Polaris isn't a failure and Zen is shaping up to be good too, I think Microsoft would be more interested in buying AMD now.

Chinede will buy amd. The snapdragon guys

Computer Engineering and Mathematics my non retard friend.
A data structure that stores n-dimensional data points in concentric n-spheres in which they are sorted by angle to the origin
>>55084405
>concentric n-spheres in which they are sorted by angle to the origin
they would have to be sorted by radial shell, since there are an infinite number of angular positions but a fixed number of shells

Nice alteration. We'll make millions!
>>55084405
postgres can do that
Just right now, there are users, who installed a server version of Windows for their home PCs to use it daily.
Question: why did you do that? Why exactly Server?
>less bloatware
>dual CPU support
>server/workstation motherboard
Well, a few years back, there was the deal with Windows Home Server. I believe the licenses were going for like $39, and it would run everything the 'normal' versions of Windows would run. I might have bought it if I hadn't sworn off giving MS any of my money, ever.
>>55084414
>>dual CPU support
NT has supported real SMP in non-server versions since the beginning, though.
And enterprise versions are pretty much bloatware-free as well.
i went to a garage sale today and picked up a few things including some old telephone equipment. i been trying to research the models of these devices but it is nearly impossible to find any information on them.
the one in the black box is a mystery.. i can't even find any information on the company itself other than an expired trademark registration. any one know what the hell this thing is?
schematics
About a month ago, I started having a problem where staticy horizontal lines gash across both monitors seemingly at random (although usually worse when the video card is working harder) and cause the screen to flicker momentarily. Example: http://i.imgur.com/P7BKlhv.gif (Sorry for the quality - video was clipped to protect the privacy of people.) The lines appear across both monitors in the same exact place at the same time. They don't appear in desktop recordings/screenshots/etc. (Pic related is not my actual computer)
I've reseated the GPU, all cables, dusted...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

Maybe your airflow is shit and card is overheating
>>55084305
>made sure nothing was overheating
Happens when the GPU and CPU are both <50C (currently GPU is ~45C and CPU is ~35C and it's still happening)
>>55084325
If it not the card and not the monitors its probably cabled
Hey guys,
I think I have a ghost in my shower. Can anybody recommend a HD spycam, preferably with the ability to connect via the net?

As long as he shares I don't see the problem.

I once spyed on my mom with a small camera. She found out when cleaning and confronted me. I denied at first, but then I noticed the gown she was wearing was coming apart and her breasts were falling out. I tried not to look but she almost forced my eyes down and then I had to get in to weigh myself in the tub, but my sister didn't want to get her hair wet, so here we are.
/g/, Which edition of Linux mint do you guys prefer?
I prefer KDE.
>>55084139
Anything KDE is automatically a better choice
Mint 18: Mate right here. Running like a mutha. Shit is cash.
Is Mint still No1?
Or did the February fiasco fuck it up completely?
what's so bad about closed source?
If the developer wants to make money, he will do so most with closed source.
and what if its collecting some data. I know this isn't an argument, but what is the likelyness they're using it for malicious purposes.
my gut tells me its very unlikely for most closed source, except windows and big software which have a lot of users and thus data to sell.
Unrelated, but how do GPL people know if a closed-source software is a copy of their program?
Its closed-source, right, how do they check if they don't have access?
>>55084100
I don't care
but I certainly do care when currysoft injects literal spyware into an IDE
>>55084100
source code was a mistake.

>Everyone on /g/ wants only free open source software
>Everyone on /g/ complains of how hard it is to get a decent paying job in IT
The more free software there is around, the less IT jobs there are.
What are some goat wireless/Bluetooth earbuds? I use them when I lift and I don't like when the wire gets in the way of my squats and diddlys.
Added bonus if reliable and good sound quality. Less than 150 please but I can stretch a little if you can argue for it.
Otherwise I'm getting pic related Jay birds

Has anyone had any experience with these raid enclosures?
I really need a lot of storage, and while I'd totally just build a nas and use a software solution I'm gonna be stuck with a laptop and well I'd like to have a somewhat small enclosure for all my storage.
I was gonna buy the WD My Book Duo 16TB but they apparently use some nonsense hardware encryption that can only be used in their enclosures.
So, I'm looking at getting one of these Mediasonic raid enclosures and just filling it with some drives.
Will these eat my files?
>>55083816
>I'd totally just build a nas and use a software solution I'm gonna be stuck with a laptop and well I'd like to have a somewhat small enclosure for all my storage.
so what. there's ITX cases with four drive bays. Bump it up to uATX and you can get six. It ain't big, even in a cramped college dorm, and it'll be a proper computer that can host other services, use ZFS/btrfs, etc.
>>55083880
A nas would probably still cost more than one of these.
>>55083880
The size is a real problem to be honest I'd like it to be small enough to fit in a suitcase, hence why I was originally looking at the WD My Book Duo.
Why is everyone scare about the windows 10 operative system? Who cares about it anyways just update it and that's it nobody cares what you're doing in the internet its just plain dumb people complain over and over again over a OS if you just want to change OS then change it nobody cares about it nay. so ThTaTs My OpInIoN DDDDDSSSS DSO DDD DD
