Post small or dumb questions here, someone will probably answer you! This thread is for questions that dont deserve their own thread as they would not inspire discussion.
What happened to this shithole? What happened to desktop threads? Been away for a couple of months and came back to this.

Welcome to /fglt/. We are always open to users of all levels, including absolute beginners.
There are four ways to try GNU/Linux, you can:
0) Install a GNU/Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
1) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU/Linux experience".
2) Dual-boot GNU/Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about GNU/Linux)
3) Go balls...

Neither.
Sublime is proprietary and costs money. And Atom is slow because fuck JavaScript.
On Windows, Notepad++ because that shit is fast and has shit like FTP support. Everywhere else, Vim.
In my next life, emacs.
nano > everything

>Immersive
It's amazing how quickly humanity advances. We're already out of the Information Age, and in the age of Immersion.
Is this a joke?
Use legacy captcha you fucking autist.
It's don't. Help a Google Car to find its way to the home.

I swear to God I experienced this type a captcha that had selected squares popping up again (to be selected again).
Google kikes are really starting to piss me off!
I've read the wikipedia page like 5 times and I still have no clue what the fuck this is
I get that it's a media center, but what the fuck is that? Is it just a bunch of media players like mpv and foobar and irfanview rolled into one? I don't think it is because it doesn't sound like it's a direct competitor to those, but I can't gather exactly what it does otherwise. Am I just a dinosaur that can't get with the times or is it purposely arcane? Then again, normies can into it so it can't be that hard to grasp
tl;dr the...

People use it for its ease of use. Normies have an adversion to anything that needs configuration/multiple applications/etc. Kodi bundles everything(file browser, media player, etc.) together and doesn't need much configuration.
At least that's what I think is happening.
>>55089454
I'd argue the primary purpose is media streaming. The core concept to me feels like it's built for you to have an always on server (pc) at home with hard drives connected, and you then stream to your tablet, like Emby or Plex. Difference being that Kodi can connect to sweet pirate addons like exodus and Phoenix
>>55089482
that actually sounds pretty neat but why not just put the files on an SD card? Is streaming really that reliable nowdays compared to reading a file locally?
Any last words for me, /g/?
the consequences will never be the same

You should probably install gentoo
Enjoy you more secure, supported and privacy respecting OS than Linux and OS X combined.
Has anyone else used this app? It's fucking magic
It tries to wake you up when you're sleeping the lightest so you don't feel like shit when you wake up
I installed it yesterday and slept from 1AM to 5:30AM and it woke me up at like 5:35AM and I felt fucking fine. This shit is crazy. I crashed hard later of course due to lack of sleep but still.

Sleep As Android

Yeah, REM cycles are a crazy thing

I've been using it for three months. It's cool as fuck, especially going back over past nights and seeing when I've gotten good and bad sleep.
> tfw average is like 6.5 hours a night
> it's consistently low throughout the week, from like 2am to 8am, give or take
> skewed by weekend sleep-fests of like 4am to 3pm
The intelligent snooze function is cool as fuck as well. I still feel drowsy...

Probably my PC build which I have been putting off forever. Finally going to own an actual desktop. I have all the other peripherals that go along with it which is nice, so it'll be concentrated on the tower.
Can someone here tell me what these should be set at? If I set everything to auto it varies when I run things, I want everything to be at a fixed number. I have an i5 4670k

I want to start with something basic. Do you recommend me this graphics card GTX750 TI "?
And they can make sure that nothing bad will happen if I have a 300W power supply? (As Nvidia guarantees on their official website)
I find it so amazing as it spends little energy this graphics card... Well, I not yet know much about this.
You recommend me that, with an intel core i3 550? (That processor is the one currently my PC) or some other processor?
Thanks...
