Is this a good deal, guys? First time buyer.
Okay deal for parts if new, shit that it's used and probably outdated on some pieces. Fine if you're a pleb with no desire to assemble your own and just want to play.
He is trying to get rid of his shitty AMD cpu
Op here. I just want to be able to play new games on decent graphics with no lag.

Tell me about GPG/PGP, /g/.
I fired up seahorse in Ubuntu and generated my keypair, now what do I do? I've heard I'm supposed to distribute my public key.
You know I've read about it and followed guides / tutorials a couple of times over the years and I still have no fucking clue what I'm supposed to do with it.
Nobody seriously exchanges public keys like they're in an 80's Russian spy b-movie, do they?
>>55128465
Sorry dude, but technology isn't that cool. There is no point to this life, and you searching for that spy movie experience is just futile. The bait images, flaming, casual racism and porn on this website are all we live for now. Your privacy is owned by these massive corporations. We are done.

Hey /g/, so i have a xeon e7 v2 engineering sample, and i found out its illegal to sell those. Problem is I can't afford a motherboard because they go for 400$+ where i live. Anyone know what happens if i contact intel about it?
>>55128121
Maybe give it back, maybe keep it. Can't really tell you. It's legally theirs.
>>55128121
>Anyone know what happens if i contact intel about it?
pure speculation but they might threaten legal action, it's illegal to sell for the same reason it's "illegal" to own them

How do you watch game of thrones live at 1080p 5.1?
Through hbo now

The show is alright; good enough for me to continue watching, but it's not something you need to see live. I just wait for a good torrent to come out on kat.cr!

Security cameras! What type of cameras do you guys use?
None, which is perhaps an oversight. I just don't like how vague the laws can be about "expectation of privacy." Should people expect privacy in my living room? I don't know. I use a Mobius Action Cam in my car as a dashcam though. Not so much for security but instead to keep the record straight.
>>55129627
Assuming the US as long as you put a small sticker on your door informing people that they are being recorded you are all set.
>>55129655
At the risk of sounding creepy, that pisses me off. As long as I'm not putting the cameras in bedrooms and bathrooms I don't agree that I should need to warn people. If they're going to do something shitty then they don't deserve warning. If they plan on being reasonable people then it makes no difference except to put them at unease with an unnecessary notification.
I don't see what value it is that such notification is protecting. Oh well.
/g/ why does my DD-WRT router randomly stop allowing connections and i have to power cycle it to make it work again?
ive upgraded to different firmware versions and sometimes it'll not work, others will work for a few weeks then it starts happening
there doesnt appear to be any log system in ddwrt that tracks system errors, just connections and stuff

>power cycle it

yeah i hit the power button, then turn it back on an it fixes it

I'm not very tech-savvy, and I could use some help /g/. Googling hasn't produced any solid answers except for jews wanting me to buy 20-30 dollar programs to clone my HDD.
I'm running Windows 8.1 on my laptops HDD that I bought a couple months ago, but it came with a SSD. The OS is on the HDD though, so my SSD is pretty useless except for some programs I have on it. I want to move my OS to my SSD, and I have no idea how.
I'm perfectly fine with doing a clean install of Windows 8.1 on my SSD, I can just reinstall everything, but people are telling...

shrink your os partition by uninstalling programs/deleting files until it's as big as your ssd's partition, then clone your os partition on the ssd with dd, gparted or easeus todo backup. after that delete the os partition from the hdd.
next time use sqt
>>55128209
what if I don't want to clone my OS? I really want a fresh install
What's up fellas? I just took 600mg of adrafinil, 200mg of l theanine, and 10mg of noopept.
I'm about to configure OpenVPN on my CentOS 7 VM running on Proxmox that's running on a TS140. This way I can remotely work on my servers because I stay with my gf a lot. After I'm gonna install Plex and see what's up. Wish me luck.
Why not just run cent OS directly on the machine.
>>55127830
Because I'm probably going to be booting up different VMs for different things. I'm learning linux sysadmin stuff as much as I can outside of class.
just bought the parts to build an 8 core rig w/ 32gb ram
if any of you live near a microcenter, right now they have an insane combo deal on the 8320e + any AM3+ mobo
I don't know if /g/ has been paying attention to the news of John taking over a new company but I've been very interested.

Cryptocurrency advisory board:

> Erik Vorhees - shapeshift.io
> Bruce Fenton - btc foundation

Bought one figuring i'd use it all the time and it's sat here collecting dust in a drawer. So pulled it out today and thought why not ask /g/ what can I do with this tablet?
Neat uses, cool mods I could do with it.
Nothing it lacks a microsd slot so it's pretty much a paperweight. Use it as a door stopper I guess.
>>55127738
I was thinking about attaching it to my wall near my bed with some kind of arm/box set up to use as a wifi music player / chromecast remote. It's not the LTE version so I can't use it as a car tablet or I would.
Comfy wit me.
