Has anyone investigated how much hotter a processor runs when using the integrated graphics?
>>55187728
I can investigate, how do you suggest I proceed?
From experience it either stays the same or increases a couple of degrees. Talking about an hour or more of GTAV or CSGO. On a 6700k though.
When I was on a c2d it shot up anywhere between 10-20C (youtube, Return to the castle of wolfenstein, AoE3 etc.)
The GPU has a 2.5w tdp compared to the other 70w or whatever of the CPU.
AMD's Linux drivers are notoriously crappy, yet /g/ is hyped for the RX 480's release. Is there any reason to believe the RX 480 will have better Linux support than previous AMD cards?

/g/ is not hyped about the 480, it's just one autist spamming 480 threads constantly

I wanna buy Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro. Is it as good as it seems for the price? Any Anon owning it would like to share his or her thoughts?
Also is it normal for chinkphones to have 1 year warranty? Is it something I should be wary of?
>>55187583
It's considered to be the best bang for the buck currently, but make sure to check if it's carrier compatible in your country. it lacks most American bands and lacks LTE 20 which is widely used in Europe.
As for warranty, that's pretty standard. if it breaks, you'll have to pay to send it back to China as well so keep that in mind.

Anyone here use Discord?
I have a problem with the desktop version - hyper links won't open when I click them. I have Chrome set as my default browser (inb4 botnet) and tried running the program as admin, but neither helped.
Any suggestions?
>>55187520
OS? I'm guessing Windows because you said `run as admin` and not `run as root`.
What router should replace my WRT54G? There's a deadzone where my TV is, and I need something that isn't 10 years old so that that isn't a problem anymore. Also looking to have it route my connections through my VPN, while leaving my roommates untouched.
The main reason for upgrading will be streaming games over a Steam Link, so I don't know if it needs that MIMO/MU-MIMO stuff or not. I'm still on 802.11g, so I'm not really up on any of the latest advances in not-sucking.
Hey,
is there something like a good video editing software that is free or cheap?
I know virtualdub mod, but it doesn't support a lot of input files and the editing is rather tedious. I currently use VideoPAD in the demoversion, but they want 50€ for the fullversion and I think that is too much for what it is...
But there are so many videoediting softwares out there that I totally have no overview.
Does /g/ know any good ones for Windows?

>Not using Adobe Premiere and After Effects
>>55187243
Sony Vegas, After Effects and Premiere are completely free. :^)
Completely depends on what you want to do. If you just want to throw clips together something like powerdirector would work. If you want more power grab premiere and/or after effects, they're free

I feel for the MacBook pro meme
People on here said OSX was good because it has a Unix base
But I have to use the mouse to do fucking everything, for example installing programs. And there is no package manager.
Also, what the fuck is up with it mounting a dmg drive every time I want to install some program? How is this shit considered good in 2016? Not to mention how cheap ass some of them theme the drive or whatever. "Click here first" etc
There isn't even a shortcut for the terminal, wtf?

Is the i3 6100 still the budget king of CPUs?
What can we expect from budget tier zen processors?
>>55186828
In terms of pure performance/price of all modern CPUs, the X4 845 beats it.
>>55186828
I'm an Intel + Nvidia guy, but AMD is really good for budget builds, both cpu and gpu, they just stomp the competition for low budgeters.
>What can we expect from budget tier zen processors?
Benchmarks.
Which one are you getting /g/?

Which one are you buying me?
Oh look it's the Titan x of CPUs, now you can buy something that will be out for half the price in a few months with the same performance!

>laptops still dont have GPS
what gives? even the plebbiest chink shit smartphones have GPS now. would give people more piece of mind if they could track down their stolen shit.
Some ThinkPad have
Laptops do have GPS you fucking retard
Considering how often people track their laptops with other means and find them in Columbia or Romania, the added accuracy of GPS would add nothing. You're still not going into a gypsy camp to recover your laptop unless you have a death wish.
And yes, it's "added accuracy." It only participates in the existing location methods because GPS is a receiving system, not a transmitting one. It wouldn't do anything on its own. You still need the laptop to transmit information in its normal way, ways that already work fine using WiFi hotspot mapping.
Hello /g/.
What do you think about this article?

Did cell phones become popular when we realized we could use watch porn on them?
I love porn yet never watch it on my mobile. It's probably just a bait article to get advertising dollars.
