Hey /g/ I have a $60 gift card to the online Microsoft store and it will expire soon so I need to use it quick. Problem is, it looks like everything on there is shit and I don't know what to waste it on. I was considering buying a new surface pen or MGSV for my brother. Anything on there you guys would recommend?

Hello guys,
I'm looking for some people that have or had experience in using Qlogic cards in target mode with FreeBSD.
I know that the isp driver supports most of them but what is not clear to me is what features will i be missing?
I honestly doesn't need SANSurfer or management software but I care about NPIV for example.
Anybody here using QLA246x on FreeBSD 10 that can help me find out please?
Also, how are the performance of the card? Comparable to using the official driver in Linux, close to that, or nowhere near?
I'm asking with regards...

Hey /g/ can you name me some websites for downloading Android Apps for free? Thx in advance
>>55191089
Sure why not.
http://www.hai2u.com
It has a few adult ads but they go away after a minute two. They put them there to stop too many people from downloading all the premium apps. They're free though.
Onhax.net
With the broken English at times and ads, it may put you off, but I've downloaded a LOT from there and it has all worked flawlessly.
What's up, /t/echies.
So my cell carrier (ATT) has a deal going on where you can get this Gear S2 watch for free (but on $10/24mos cell plan) if you also get a Galaxy S7 Active. I'm in the market for this active already, but am not sure if I should jump and get it now with the watch.
So my question is, are smart watches worth it yet? Is it worth the $240?
Should probably elaborate some more, too. I've got like 6 months left on my plan. If I want to get this active and watch, I have to pay like $160 to pay off my current plan. My bill with just the active would actually be $1/month cheaper, but with the watch would be $9 more expensive. If I get insurance on it it'd be about $15 more expensive per month. Thoughts? Suggestions? Anyone own the Gear S2? Pic unrelated.

Stop with the gpu on laptop meme, make external gpus a thing instead and praise battery life.

Wtf is with the obviously over the top shitposts lately regarding AMD VS Intel VS nvidia? I mean most of the front page is dominated by what seems to me obvious bait or more pointless speculation about Zen and Polaris. At this point I think I'm going to see threads about how an Anon has divined benchmarks for the RX 480 through reading chicken entrails.
>>55189261
Because brand faggotry and perma-spazzes trying desperately to validate their purchase by belittleing anyone with a contrary opinion. it's 4chan.
>>55189278
I get fan boyism, I get justifying your purchase, it's stupid and shallow but I get it. What dominates /g/ lately though is more like one retard cooks up a badly made PowerPoint with no sources and posts it, then 2 dozen retards argue about the significance of the figment of the first guys imagination. And it's like they know it's all bullshit but they're playing pretend if they say it enough it has to be true.
Don't get me wrong, my first system build back in 94 was an AM386SX...

I don't get it either the prices are how they are and the performance needs to be proofed by benchmarks.
I will get one 480 because it's the cheaper option anyway. The meming about two beating a 1080 are hilarious exaggeration since multiple gpu setup is rarely supported. People are hyped about it is my only guess.
Hello. I've been using the same 4:3 LCD monitor for 10 years now, and i've been thinking of buying a new one.
At the moment im looking for a 16:9 ofc, recommended for games, such as CSGO, or shooters in general. Speaking of that lovely 1ms GTG and the 60Hz as my build can only manage over150-200fps only in CSGO.
I live in Eastern Europe. I cant really buy outside my country and i don't even want to do that as i barely trust websites. I've been buying from a few websites here and then and the one that didnt disappoint me, yet, is www.pcgarage.ro

Are these memory core fluctuations normal? This is happening when browsing the internet with firefox. The one part where the core clock spikes up is when I opened a video. Why the fuck is the memory clock spiking up and down even when I am doing basically nothing?
It's not spiking, it's resuming normal operation. Any time you're not using the gpu it clocks down to save power.
>>55188855
yes, but why does it shoot up to 1500 in the first place? When playing games it is at a constant 1500 because of the workload. When browsing the web, should it really need to be that high?

Hey, I'm Australian and want to get a virtual reality headset to basically play Elite: Dangerous and use virtual desktop.
I have a R9 280 but I was thinking of getting a RX 480 to use with a preowned DK2.
Or should I get an older HDK direct from Razer? They are about $479 AUD here compared to around 350 - 400 for a DK2.
I'd like to get the most future proof option, do you think the DK2 will last?
pls help, you decide my fate /g/
>>55188222
First off, pretty sure Elite Dangerous (and most VR games in general) are compatible mostly/only with Vive or Oculus. OSVR HDK is nice, but you'll always have the short end of the compatibility stick.
Secondly, boththe HDK and DK2 are developer kits that are already obsoleted and not intended for long term use/support. There is no "future proofing" with them because they have no future.
VR headsets are NOT just monitors. The SDKs/runtimes/drivers for them are being updated and the tech...

Oh and I played Elite Dangerous on both the DK2 and CV1 with a 280x. I can't use high settings without frame rate issues, but at lower settings (which still look great in the headsets) it runs OK. Asynchronous Timewarp helps a lot too.
Can't comment on how well the 280x handles planetary landings as I didn't buy Horizons, but from what I hear it's more demanding.
So likely your 280 will work "ok" but not great.

You raise some really good points, thanks for your insight. I might hold off for now.
So I watched the apple watch keynote and decided it's something I actually want. Looks really useful and cool. But I use a galaxy phone instead of an iPhone. So how is the samsung gear s2?

Anyone know how the displays are on the lower priced Chromebooks? (i.e. not $1000+ Pixel)
Anything that compares to Retina screens?
>>55186742
Don't act like a worthless nigger. You want to spend bottom dollar, you get bottom dollar specs and performance. There's a reason why the Pixel is $1000+
>>55186747
I'd be willing to spend $700 or so but I'm not shelling out $1300 for a fucking Chromebook when I could get a rMBP
>>55186742
>Anything that compares to Retina screens?
You can't honestly be that stupid
Unless they have an IPS screen they will look like dogshit compared to even a non retina MacBook Pro
