If my desktop computer does not have wireless capability, then is there any way I can use a wireless mouse and keyboard on this computer?
Saged in all fields for shit bait.
>>55254806
lol not bait
wireless peripherals usually come with a usb device that get the signals from your devices to the computer.
And those peripherals usually operate via bluetooth, not wi-fi as you seem to be thinking
FTP
Anyone still use this to send shit, or does everyone stick to HTTP and Shit like BT now.
If anyone does still use this, what are some interesting FTP sites to check out - whats on it.
I remember FTP sites being kinda big in the 90s with ftp.cdrom.com but i was young then, didn't really give a shit.
Also accepted SFTP\FTPS\SCP\whatever
Is there a reason nobody made a better FTP, one with Searching and Metadata? (i mean at that point they serve a different purpose but w/e)
>>55254751
bump
>>55254751
>If anyone does still use this
>tfw silence is the answer
>>55254751
I use FTP every once in a while, if only to grab source files from a repository. It was never all that popular and it became even less so once the Internet became popular. I've also used it to store and retrieve files on my router, just in case I want to access those files without having to tunnel into my home PC.
As for websites that allow for FTP transfers, they are few and far in between. Most of the time, the sites that do offer FTP transfers only offer it as an after thought (or as a legacy protocol).
Will I get made fun of at college as a 26 year old for having a "tough book"?
I'm going for programming. I can't afford a new one, my grandma bought me this so i wouldn't break it
>>55254690
>26 years old
>Worrying about people making fun of you
Your supposed to transcend that shit by the time you hit your mid 20's. Unless your a NEET loser.
>>55254690
Whack them with it a few times and the laughter will stop.
>>55254690
If I ever saw someone with a ToughBook I'd figure they were a big dollar engineer or contractor. You should play the part to wrangle pussy.
Programming babby here
How is a method different from a function in python?
How is method different from function in any language? Its 2 different names for same thing
I think it like functions exists by itself, and methods are associated with an object/module
But at the end of they day pretty much the same thing.
>>55254685
When you call a method the object instance gets passed as the first argument to the method.
What will happen when he's gone?
We will have no freedom.
>>55254578
Explain.
>what will happen when a commie jew dies
A less shitty world i'm sure.
>phone total cost lowers
>more room for battery
>selfies look a lot better(whoever still takes them)
i mean like wtf samsung and apple??
>>55254456
I feel like it would be really easy for it to break off
now nsa can spy on you in hd!
Are there any high end phones with no front camera?
What is so inherently great about Linux that makes it better than Windows?
It respects your freedoms 50% of the times and doesn't spy on you.

Yes, I did.
Why are the two best 15" laptop alternatives on the market complete and utter shit?
Because what matters is that it's a lightweight device, capable of smaller tasks, that has good battery life.
No adult cares if their computer can play GAAAAAAAAYmes.

Such as?

Hi guys I built this to try and find my old gaming buddies back from the early TFC 1 and Jedi Knight days.
As you can see I just put it online, if you want to add yourselves you might find your old friends , after all you are probably browsing /vg alongside them.
Any feedback EG features, are welcome.

*assuming you ever browse /vg/ which I am now thinking you maybe dont, but I am sure most of you played online games a while back and have lost touch with your buddies right?
Specifically I was hoping for advice. Is there any way I could help build the list by querying a DB somewhere?
>>55254353
thats a cool idea, ive never played video games so i have no idea if there already is something like that out there but if there isnt i think some people might even want to use that
Does anyone else think that there should be some sort of license to purchase/own a computer?
I have a friend who doesn't know what version of Windows his on, eventhough there's Windows 7 logo everytime he boot his computer.
Bump for civil conversations.
Yes. I also think everything in society should be divided by people's IQ, EI, and accomplishments.
Not really
See misusing a computer worst case scenario you destroy your computer. You cant seriously harm yourself or anyone else. Unlike things you need a license for, a gun, a car. a chainsaw.

If GNU/Linux is so great, why does it only have 1% marketshare? Why couldn't Valve convince gaymers to switch over with the miserable failure that was SteamOS and Steam Machines.
>>55254277
Because Linux is shit.
Manufacturers already tried putting the Linux meme on their PC's and nobody bought them and the ones that did returned them.
How can something that costs nothing have a marketshare?
>>55254277
Linux is way more than 1%, we just had to drop GNU first.
