Have you cleaned your PC this month? I gave all my innards and fans a good clean and now it runs 10 degrees C cooler.

I'm not surprised
Anyone got any tips on how to properly clean parts like the fans and the motherboard? Want to give my pc a overhaul with a new gpu the next weeks and want it to be as dust free as possible

Not my PC though. But I do have an R4.
Why haven't you used xmodmap to swap the space and shift keys yet, anon?

I had something similar happen m8. But it was a w7 laptop that got bogged down with a bunch of viruses somehow.
Ubuntu mate is one of the easiest distros for people to move to since mate can be configured to look very similar to windows 7/xp which people are used to.
I also upgraded my mums laptop from 2gb to 4gb ram though, which may have helped.

I need help in deciding how to modernize my electronic equipment. I am obsessed now with the privacy of my data and reclaiming information. I do not want to be the product Google or Facebook sells. With that said, I still need productivity and I am forced to use Windows for uni.
I am thinking of two options for my main setup:
A Dell Latitude and a mini-tower PC (desk in my apartment is small). The PC would mainly be used for cryptocurrency mining and gaming and graphics editing in picture and video for an "e-zine" and preparing writings for print overseas. Latitude would be what I would carry every day.
For 500 grams more though, I could get a Dell Precision. Is it true I can replace parts on the Precision as I find them on sale therefore no longer needing a PC? I could use it for everything I listed above.
Besides Tails, Whonix, and Qubes, what is the most secure but still functional Unix-like or Linux OS? I am looking into Debian, but I admit my experience is only with babby Ubuntu.
I am also going to upgrade to probably the Samsung 7 Edge and get a Galaxy Tab tablet. If you have a suggestion for better or more secure of either, I'd love to hear it. I cannot find a better specced table than the Galaxy Tab. Tablet would be for in class notes and as a light-weight carry when I don't need to haul along the laptop that day.
I am also thinking of the freedompop or Blackphone 2 phone instead of Samsung Edge 7. Burner phones too of course.
I am doing a dangerous thing by being the point source of collecting evidence of ISIS atrocities. I also want to produce a rival to ISIS' Dabiq and Ameq media.ISIS propaganda has to be countered,
So this post is about technology: Galaxy Tab for tablet, Galaxy S7 Edge or freedompop or Blackphone2, Dell Latitude + mini-PC or Dell Precision only? Also what graphics pad/stylus would be good for media editing?
Can I put the cluster in a storage unit? Or is renting from Amazon or another company better or does it violate opsec?
I am thinking of building a sever cluster and renting a private storage unit that has AC. I'll use a generator as well so the electricity bill will not alert management
i know I can rent servers from Amazon or other companies, but I am weary of that.. I am sure there are bitcoin accepting companies so I can be anonymous, but everything would have to be encrypted.
But I think I need to encrypt the server as a whole, then isolate each file and encrypt it, so hopefully if the server is compromised, then each file will also be encrypted.
Any books I should...

Additionally, what coding language is best for server mangement of a large database of files?
Apache Cassandra, Oracle, or MySQL?
I wish it were easier to know where to start. I can learn the languages easily enough. Logic is my forte. But there are so many options and the differences are not clear.
I am mostly looking at popularity of each language then assuming the more popular it is, the better the language. Not a very good way to gauge the utility of each language.

Summerize in short and concise points
Imma be trying out a vive today, what's the sort of stuff I should be testing?
Oculus niggs, what are it's shittest parts? Really wanna work this thing out.
Stuff like "remember to move you're eyes, not just you're head to test the FOV"
Don't buy an HTC Vive, buy a BMW X5. With power that can overtake, capacity that feels infinite, and design that stuns from city streets to winding highways, this car doesn’t just embody space—it can escape to a place that has more of it.

If you saw the amount of text in this post yet carried on reading, well done, I underestimated you. The LHC at CERN is actually a cover for a UN organised massive cold data storage project. The tunnels under switzerland are filled with data servers -- and its not for the results of physics experiments.

What gnu+loonis distro do you gentleman use, and why?
Kali because I only use it for cracking Wifi
Windows 7 Enterprise master race
Arch on most of my laptops and workstations. Works well for me and I like the overall package management using pacaur.
I use CentOS on all but one of my servers (debian on the odd one) currently.
Currently comfy af with this setup.

Arch on desktop, ubuntu on server
So I currently own a 1155 core i5 3450.
Should I upgrade to the newest socket 1151 or better buy a core i7 1155 processor?
What are the benefits of newer processors? I only notice a small in creas in speed.
Don't upgrade, u already have 1155 cores and most games only use 1 or 2 :s
>>55259208
Upgrade to an i7 3770/2600, or 2600k/3770k if you really need an upgrade.
I7 3770 should be on par with an i5 6600 iirc, and i7 2600 between the i5 6400 and 6500
i have a pentium g3258 at 4.3 and its doing as well as my old 1100t six core.

>no idea where my files are, iCloud probably has them
>meme features like face recognition don't even work
How the fuck do normies even use programs like this? Do they just sigh and say "eh, fuck it" when their machine decides to randomly scrabble their photos without warning and not let them fix it?
Jesus Christ, this software is shit.
The face recognition is racist.
I was trying to categorize my porn. It partially worked until japanese women confused it. After that it just wouldn't recognize faces anymore.
most photo import programs just arent good for some reason
i started photography last novemember and found out how slow lightroom is at importing photos even though i have my sd card on a usb 3.0 adapter
if i move a folder of photos its also a son of a bitch trying to relocate import it later
It's basically one of those programs for people who don't know how to manage a file system and are essentially the same people Apple decided to lock the file system on iOS for. I hate it too when it pops up whenever I try to copy over pictures that I've taken on my DSLR, but I always try to remember that the only OS that wasn't also designed to be used by technically illiterate people (and is still being used) is Linux.

Please tell me how that means it more customizable than say ubuntu minimal? arch doesn't even have granular packages that split the devel, doc, etc. files from the package. Now if you said that it was based f some source distro like gentoo you would actually be right.
Good luck trying to get something like musl to work properly on arch, or even something like libressl (yeah I know there is an aur package, but...
