Do you/have you used encrypted email service? What has been your experience? Are they safe? Worth it?
There pretty much a waste of time when email encryption has existed for years. Also email is outdated btw
>>55613144
I'm using their paid service just because I like fancy custom email names. couldn't care less about privacy(I don't want my dick-pics on the internet that's about it) because I still have an android phone and gmail
>>55613178
>email is outdated
?
Why can we have a version of Android that could work on all devices without the need to manually port them for each Android device like Windows and Linux does on desktop ? That would be fuckin great for updates on all phones. Is it a driver problem ?
Because manufacturers don't want to support old hardware, so that retards will buy their new phone to run whatever shiny meme shit is available in the latest Android?

Driver one part, NAND storage one part and device tree one part.
Probably.

What are some useful project ideas that I can work on, in order to build up my portfolio?
Is building a github portfolio even a good idea for future jobs?

PC98 emulator for android so that I can play earlier touhou games on my phone.
make sure to design a good interface for controlling the character and shooting.
Github is a bad idea. It's the 4chan of code hosting - you WILL get trolled and everything you can and will do about it WILL make you look bad.
Try a personal website (max professional) or bitbucket.
>>55612926
>It's the 4chan of code hosting -
More like the Twitter of code hosting. Everybody ignores you.

Anyone know of a good universal adblocker on iOS? A few have started to pop up but most have some flaws that make them unusable.

GNU/Linux does not protect your freedom as a user or developer, BSD does.
GNU/Linux does not make developers rich, BSD does
GNU/Linux does not let you own your work, BSD does
Play with (((Stallman's))) marxist software all you want, when you're ready for a truly free desktop: BSD is waiting.
are we trying to summon bsdfag
Saying you need the source code for the four freedoms is like saying you need a car to have freedom of movement
The GPL should have merely negated IP law and made software, including compiled binaries, a form of protected public domain. No copyright bullshit being used to control people (give us your souuuurce), copyright bullshit being used to truly prevent people from being controlled.
Pfft. Sure BSD help developers rich.
The selected one, that is.

what is functional programming all about?
how is it useful to not want to alter state?

functional programming is just for computer science grad students who are frustrated that all their algorithm knowledge hadn't gotten them one sliver pussy or industry respect.

Hey /g/, what are your favorite tech and software tutorial/learning sites? What courses are currently taken or have taken? Any recommendations.
I'm talking about sites like Coursera, Codecademy, Lynda, etc.
I've been on a kick of watching tutorial series for stuff I already know how to use because there are tons of features I had no idea existed.
Currently watching the Lynda Essential tutorial series for Excel 2016. Only have a very basic knowledge of excel/spreadsheet software so I'm learning it for jobs in the future that may require it.
>>55612345
practice is a million times better than wasting time watching pajeet-tier video demonstrations
following a CAD tutorial series on lynda. Good website and tutorials but shit is expensive, fortunately I found a torrent for it but it was missing the exercise files
>>55612359
As long as you practice the stuff you learn from videos I don't see a problem. There are some great programming video tutorials out there that help a ton if you make sure to utilize the concepts being taught in a program of your own. A lot of people make the mistake of just copying what the person they're watching is doing without really understanding it though.
