VST's are just a distraction.

Do you speak german? Here's a manual I wrote some time ago. I don't have time to translate it doe. Its for registering a vst library. I guess it's what you want.

I need help booting up Windows 7. I just built my (first) PC and started booting up windows from an USB-drive. I think I made the ISO-images etc. correctly, because the PC starts windows when I turn on the power. But after I input the language etc. it starts whining something about missing device drivers. I tried different USB ports and even tried to make the bootable USB drive again.
>>55361277
Doubles get. And I just tried putting the sata cable from the SSD to "OS drive" port on the mobo, still the same thing.
how about you supply him these missing drivers
>>55361277
nobody does it like that, ever. use a linux distro live usb, boot off that, then you'll be able to get a windows iso off the internet (put in your product key) and dualboot, then just delete the partion for the linux distro through windows. bam.
Does /g/ recommend Codecademy for a beginner? I've been dabbling on and off four something like three years, but as soon as I stop using resources or tutorials I have no clue what to do next. For example, once I get the basics of Python down I write a program that works and don't know where the next step Is on the metaphorical "roadmap" of learning. Any help?
Just be yourself
>>55361278
Tried that, I keep hitting the glass ceiling of programming noobs. I end the course and have no clue what else I should learn. I tried Pygame, but I lacked basic knowledge of the language that I thought I'd get through courses.
Codecademy is only really useful for learning the absolute fucking basics of programming and learning the syntax of a new language.
If you already know how to do things like assign variables, make loops, define functions, do comparisons, etc., Codecademy won't offer you much.
I finally enabled the font smoothing (cleartype) on my XP install.
My eyes kinda hurt now because the text is all blurry now, how do I make it look better, while still remaining smooth? I tried Cleartype Tuning but it didn't really change much.
>>55361234
Try MacType
>>55361290
>MacType
not op but last time i tried using it my pc got bricked, any tips?
>>55361290
Thank you, anon!
It looks way better now, although it still feels weird (probably because I'm not used to smooth text at all)

There's other ways of using git?
Remember WP7? Now that had good UX. WP8 was a step backwards and W10M even more so.
Oh yes.
So, is Windows 10 on phones/tablets more or less on death row?

HOW?
A team of devs and they STILL can't make a useable OS?

Just use macOS if you want a stable UNIX desktop system. Ladies love it. You'll love it.

Good job i guess
>>go to software center to uninstall the office software
Should have used apt
>>software center bugs out and i have to click each application 3 times to uninstall it
Wouldn't had faced this problem if you had directly used apt
>>go to update ubuntu cause it said some updates were available
Same with this one
>>watch the loading progress thingy
Alright
>>ubuntu STILL says updates are available
Wouldn't had this problem etc etc if apt
>>go to install chromium via software center
sudo apt-get install chromium-browser

Why cant use apt directly?
>>go to download chrome from "ubuntu browser" - you can't fucking download from this browser??? what the actual fuck
Your fault, should've used apt

Well since you're not comfortable with using the terminal, you did the right thing

Is it dead?
it is on f-droid, doofus.
Nope. I am using a compiled version from Github. Floens still commit on Github. The last version is very cool there is a catalog mode.

F-Droid is as alive as my grandma's dogs, and they both died 16 years ago.

Hey /g/ I'm a simple guy who likes computers and want to learn more about how it works and how can I get better on it..
the thing is, by now I don't own any computers (because my economy sucks now) I just have my android phone, and a tablet.. How can I start learning about programing, and practice at the same time, using my phone or tablet, any tips or recommendations? like download this and learn this language, or get it this page and practice this exercises... anything will help!
Thanks for your help guys, hope someday I will be able to perform any task in this world of computers
If you really want to learn to program then doing it on a phone is a waste of time. Save up for a used Thinkpad, put Linux on it.
>>55361094
You will can try learn python with you android device
Can will use Qpython3 and any book about python language or official documentation
Sorry for my English

Without "will"
sorry
Dear /g/.
I made separate thread, because I dont think it would fit /sqt/. Its about advice on my future new PC build.
I plan to buy new PC in around two weeks. I was actually planning to buy it since last 6 months - Im using same machine since 6 years, with only once replaced GPU - from GTX 460 to 660. At first, I planned to get it at spring, with GTX 960, bur heard about new cards incoming, so decided to wait. Im not fan of spending too much money on GPU and always pick "mid" cards, thus x60 line so far.
I decided to get RX 480 in the end, but...

Wait for custom PCB ones, they'll fix the current problem going on with the 480. I recommend sapphire or powercolor pcs+ (if they release one), and get 2x8gb ddr4 sticks
>>55361619
Actually, 2x8gb is for some reason slightly more expensive. But does it affect performance, to have few sticks than one big?
>Wait for custom PCB ones
How long should I wait? I mean, Im not getting this PC right now, like I said - somewhere in like two weeks.
I rarely buy GPUs, could you explain, how should I tell apart custom from other ones? I thought that this one on pic attached is kinda okay. But there will be other versions?
Im sorry for asking such questions.
>>55361727
>does it affect performance
Dual channel is around 3-5% better, and if one stick fails, you can still use the PC
>How long should I wait?
Around 2 weeks
>how should I tell apart custom from other ones?
That one in your picture is a reference design, they all look the same, no matter the manufacturer. Custom ones are designed by sapphire or gigabyte for example, they have different fans, boards, heatsinks,...

No. The better subtitle rendering is absolutely worth it.
>>55361086
Thanks! And what about colors and definition?
At the moment, yes. They are a meme, too expensive and there's not much 4K content available.
I suggest you wait until 2018 to buy a 4K TV. For now a 1080p TV is more than enough especially since most HD channels are still 720p for some retarded reason.
Does /g/ approve of my poorfag gaymen pc I put together?
OP here, here is a quick price list:
£0 - Fujitsu pc, was going for recycling at work
£5 - 4GB DDR2 Main brands mixed
£15 - Intel SSD + 500GB HDD
£9 - Graphics card
£29 and I can play Unreal Tournament and look at memes
