Can someone explain to me the use, if any(there must be or there wouldn't be so many phone out there with this "feature, right?!), of dual sim slots in smartphones?
How will it know which one to use if both are available and then why not just use one and switch the cards when needed?
Probably for people that travel internationally. Buying a prepaid sim card for one month can save you hundred to thousands of dollars. I am not even exaggerating. I have seen people get $3000 phone bills (one month) for using an iphone in a different country.
It's about being able to receive calls for 2 different numbers on the same phone. Work and home phone, for example. But a Google search would have answered your question. Take it to the \sqt\ thread next time.
What happens if you put Windows 8.1 iso pn a USB 2.0 and try to install Windows 8.1 on a PC with Skylake?
Will Cannonlake (10nm) be the first CPU that never becomes obsolete? Even if we make it to 5nm, that will only be like a ~10% gain in IPC based on jewtels track record.
I expect 5% performance increase every generation from Intel now.
There's still no reason to upgrade from Haswell if you don't need more PCI-e lanes.
The biggest pusher now is chipset features.
So /g/, whats the best language to program a game in? Which languages have the best libraries for that sort of thing and also, importantly, which would be the simplest/fastest language to program a game in?
Was it throttling?
Thermal, or power target? Or both?
Will better boards with proper cooling and an 8pin or 2 6pins get within spitting distance to the 980?
Because they think they can pull an NVidia, turns out they cant.
Probably power, blower cards usually run pretty hot. I've seen some rumors of it gaining ~15% performance from a 5% overclock, but as learned from recent events, one should take rumors about this card with a kilogram of salt. Good thing about all the problems showing up now is AMD's partners already now what to fix.
It doesn't run hot because it has a blower...
Check out my heatsink nigga.
/g/ I want a large mouse pad that super slick and fast
Get a trackball mouse and thank me later.
>Indian weather melting roads
>Indian GPU melting PCI slots
> makes cheapest card that plays everything at 1080p 60fps
> nvidia finished
why would you buy anything but a 480?
TFW Google CR-48 is the most beautiful laptop ever but the specs were, are, and always will be garbage.
Why aren't there any minimalist laptops/ultrabooks that look nice, perform nice, and are affordable?
I'm seeing a lot of programmers who have a pretty good pc with good GPUs and CPUs and they use it for work. why could it be? why would you have a expensive pc for work when you could have an ok one?
If I ran a development firm I'd limit everybody to 1GB of RAM and an Intel Atom processor. Then my bearded 'code artisans' would be forced to write something actually efficient for once in their worthless lives.
I dunno I use a 4 year old i3 with 12gb of ram.
Only reason I have the ram is to keep more chrome tabs open. Anything that needs speed gets done on a server somewhere.
you really don't need a lot of power to run a text editor, and if you're compiling software on your work machine, you're doing it wrong.
VM's I run on my workstation usually have 256-512 ram which even then is over kill.
Why does the US suck apples dick so much when they don't even pay taxes?
I think there's also an open source version of Roller Coaster Tycoon, but I'm not sure. That game was also pretty good.
But this is not a great place to discuss this, there are boards dedicated for these kind of discussions. Use them.
How does /g/ feel about lasers.
Here are three of mine.
Do yourself a favor, get an NVIDIA video card
