Daily reminder that the HD800 is GOAT.
Old thinkpad thread is over 300
I love my t430, and the egpu for it works wonderfully.
I bought my oldest sister a t420 an i5, 320gb HDD, 1600x900 screen, 8gb of ram, and nvidia graphics. She's gonna be using it for playing the sim 3, and her husband will use it for studying electrical code. It cost me 200$. I feel like this was a good price, and it will suit their needs.
Any other positive experiences?
Does anyone ever buy the 15 inch t series thinkpads?
I feel like they don't have much to offer over the 14 inchers.
>>45239466
bought the T520 with 1600x900
thought DPI is going to be an issue so I went with that screensize and resolution
mfw should have gotten T420 or FHD or both
Wanted a t420 but snached an elite book 8540w and I'm more than glad I did.
i7, 8 gigs of ram, dedicated nvidia 1gig gpu
I'm playing WoD at 40-60fps, High effects
all for $250...

So /g/, I've been thinking of creating my own satellite
I'd do a test run with like a weather balloon but if I could do it it'd be grand.
>use raspberry pi connected to cameras, altimeter, thermometer
>record data and video of launch
>send it into orbit then which now costs about 8k
This is a great idea /g/

sun bounces out electrons and shit, your computer will fuck up because all the 1's and 0's will bounce around and get mixed up outside the atmosphere.
space is expensive
>>45245110
what are you going to do about radiation flipping the bits in your sat, What are you going to do about temperature controls. What are you going to do about communication.... Who do you think you are going to fly with?
>>45245110
>>45245700
>Temperature controls
so much this. I was helping to build a computer to send into the upper atmosphere, it was a nightmare. The first computer was put in a vacuum chamber to test it, it got over 60 degrees Celsius. The second got down to 30 degrees, and the third got to a 25, which was the one we sent up. It worked pretty good, though managing heat sinks and weight is killer.

I'm married
hi /g/
im a neetfag that spends all day in front of a computer programming
I like having some kind of connection or distraction open so it doesnt feel so lonely all the time. Like a radio station or a stream in the background. I find it hard to focus if I'm not 'connected'
Lately I've been looking for
* chat rooms and for stuff related to software development that I can idle in and have open in the back ground
* podcasts and radio stations to play while i develop (doesnt have to be related to dev but i like talk stations and...

Questions that dont deserve their own threads thread (so like 80% on /g/).
Im about to install Antergos on a nigger rigged PC I drunkenly put together last night.
I have 3 HDDs, a SATA 320GB one, an IDE 400GB one and an IDE 60GB one from 2003 that kinda still works.
Which one would be better to work as my OS HDD? The SATA one or the IDE one?
Thanks in advance, Ill post pics of my masterpiece next. Currently running a live session while waiting for help and wisdom.
If I were to install Arch on a virtual machine using a physical hard disk, could I boot from that hard disk on my actual machine?
>>45238528
SATA 320GB for boot
IDE 400GB for storage
Don't use the 60GB IDE in this system.
>>45238624
probably you will have to fix the bootloader and fstab file

I don't see what's wrong with the page where she says she needs help, the person that programs the engine is not normally the graphics designer and probably doesn't do the audio work either.
Yet more feminists that can't use command prompt deciding they know what they're doing.

Are there any darknets other than freenet that actually host websites on the network itself instead of just obfuscating the IP of the server that content is hosted on?
After the recent shutdown of many hidden services, now would seem to be the time to implement a completely decentralized anonymous network. We need a system with better anonymity, no centralized points of failure, distributed databases with fully malleable encryption, and public key cryptography immune to quantum attacks if there is ever to be any hope of stopping the government's internet censorship.
>>45217624
i2p is going to get popular really soon.
I believe Perfect Dark has a built in BBS similar to newsgroups on Usenet.
Perfect Dark works in a somewhat similar fashion to Freenet 0.5, but it's Japanese only and proprietary at that.
>>45217713
But it is still just an anonymous tunnel with servers to be seized on the other end.
>>45217755
Isn't perfect dark very imperfect? Like completely broken now?

It's much cheaper now.
Alternatively just buy a Nokia N8 and use it as an audio player. It has a better Wolfson chip than any iPod ever made.

How much is the board? My 5th gen had that sound dead unless bottom corner push occurs constantly.
