Why isn't .svg more popular? This is literally the best image file format.
yeah sure just let me convert this raw photo to .svg

It only works well for simple graphics, automatic conversion from raster (i.e. photo) to vector doesn't work well, and modern screens are raster-based tech.

Trips don't lie.
So it's a given that most of you guys download films and tv shows illegally.
I'm curious though, do you just watch and delete or do you hoard it on a hard drive? Seems a bit risky to have a hard drive full of evidence of your indiscretions
I have an NAS server with a that stuff.
It's safer to keep it rather than download it every time you want to watch. People get caught by getting their IPs logged while they're actively torrenting, so the less time you spend downloading the better.
>>45437504
True, but when the police seize your computer surely it would be best not to have 700GB of stolen movies on there
I have shittons of vintage hardware.
What is a realistic price to sell it?
Also, post your vintage hardware.
>>45434464
20$
Post more of it.
>>45434464
How would we know if you don't post what the actual hardware is? Do you have an original Apple 1 or a dozen Atari 2600?
Give me one reason why I should seed my torrents
I don't seed because I only got 140 KB/s upload and I can't even post a gif on 4chin without my brother yelling about lag in his games
You shouldn't, it's the beauty of the free market

Straya fag reporting in.
Your uploads are 3 times faster than my fastest possible downloads.
Lucky cunt.
So /g/ what's the best monitor 27" or more for gaming? Any thoughts on the Korean monitors?
>>45433608
For gaming?
Asus PG278Q
There's also the 1080p version for like 1/3 the price. 144Hz is a hell of a drug.
As for the korean monitors, they're nice, but they don't generally overclock that well and often just drop frames past 60 even if they report a higher refresh rate.
I'm planning on buying a benq xl2720z together with a 2420z portrait.
Is this smart?
Sounds like the DP2710 is one of the best.
Pretty juicy stuff in here

CLEAN MY FOOKIN' LOO
Linux-newfag here. Currently using Win7 and like it (except for muh freedom).
Should I install Kubuntu on my Notebook?
I am using it for the following and need it to run perfect within it:
-Presentations at Uni (beamer)
-Watching streams and series
-Office (Well, I use LibreOffice anyway) /PDF reading
Sure go for it.
I'd recommend you use Mint instead. If you like KDE, then you can get that on Mint too, instead of Cinnamon. http://www.linuxmint.com/release.php?id=22
Mint will come with wireles drivers and all those office suite things installed, just like Ubuntu variants do, but without the zeitgeist and geo bullshit installed.
>>45434764
>Xubuntu or Gnome-Ubuntu are better
Install Kingston office instead also
Hello, I am very frustrated, I lost all of my data because my brother used my pc and formatted my external drive, it's a seagate 3tb external. The data in this drive is worth 12 years of my life, pictures, documents, videogames, music... How can I get this back? ALL OF IT. Please I need the help.
There is software out there that can recover lost data. You usually have to play for it though.
try Recuva
>>45435966
I am willing to pay. Could you give me the name of some approved programs?
what about recuva? i'm using it at the moment.

ITT : we talk about distros
What are you pref Linux's distros guys ? Try to explain by topics :
Style, stability, familiarity, documentation and stuff
Also, going to buy a new laptop, can't go above 400€, you guys already bought a laptop already under Linux distro ? Was thinking about getting something on linux-shop (French website, soz.)
For example : http://www.linux-shop.fr/produit-LSP15-v1.html (should not be too hard to translate)

OP here
For my part, I only had a computer running Ubuntu. Quite simple to use for anyone, seems pretty stable, but didn't like the user interface, doesn't really look beautiful. Also the install was a real pleasure, in 2 click you got the thing running on your PC.
Also tried Debian at univ', with GNOME env, but can't really tell a lot about it.
I'm looking forward to see your distros and what you think about that.
>Fedora
>Style: Vanilla, do it yourself.
>Stability; Bretty good to be semi bleeding edge.
>Familiarity: Is that some kind of Ubuntu user word?
>Documentation: Horrible, but, everything is on ArchLinux Wiki to be honest you just need to have common sense to use any distro.
>>45432991
>Familiarity: Is that some kind of Ubuntu user word?
My bad, I wasn't clear enough... I mean, for how long have you been using this distro etc..
When was the last time you burned a CD / DVD?
>>45423953
About an hour ago. I even have a couple DVD-RW disc's so that I don't waste media to things like firmware updates and such.
>>45423953
I can't even remember to be honest.
About 90 minutes ago. frozen dvd for my daughter. Yeah I burn shit. I burn movies and linux distros. I trust a disc more than I do USB
