Ok so, I am going back to school with the fucking kids. I want a good laptop I can take at work and take at school, so it has to have a good battery life.
I don't want a brick either, and handwritten notes. Is the surface 3 the best option?
>>45529881
>so it has to have a good battery life.
>Is the surface 3 the best option?
lol no.
>>45529916
What has a better than 10 hour battery life and isn't an underpowered piece of shit then, shitposter-kun?

http://arstechnica.com/security/2014/12/powerful-highly-stealthy-linux-trojan-may-have-infected-victims-for-years/
"Researchers have uncovered an extremely stealthy trojan for Linux systems that attackers have been using to siphon sensitive data from governments and pharmaceutical companies around the world."
"Now researchers from Moscow-based Kaspersky Lab have detected Linux-based malware used in the same campaign."
Rekt
Just you wait until APTs start becoming common on tablets smartphones and routers. No UI (in fact no admin rights) that could be used to reveal the malware. Always on LTE connection doing who knows what with no connection logs to read, or logs compromised (the router infection). As stealthy as they have gotten on full blown OS installs they pale in comparison to the possibility of the sheer pervasiveness of APTs running on other devices.
Remember, almost everything now is a computer and runs some sort of OS far more capable than the UI the device is presenting to the user.

This is looking rather cozy. However it's kind of unfortunate that you have picnic tables as desks and a 12 year olds lamp. I would know it's a 12 year olds lamp, cause I had one when I was 12 years old. lol
>>45528839
I was 12 once too. We should be friends. :^)))
So /g/, what drugs do you use to help you work? I personally find Adderall and weed to be the most effective when working with 3D modeling.
>>45536083
>using drugs
i like weed even though its not a drug because it's soon to be legalized
i don't work on it though i use it for gaming
>>45536108

All you need to do is find a yet unclaimed plain girl, talk nice to her but don't overdo it, and there you have a gf. It isn't hard at all.

Muh old fleet. Most have been sold off.
Okay guys what do you think about Linux Mint 17.1 and is better choice than Ubuntu with any GUI or is worse? Tell me why i should use Mint as my primary OS
>>45530161
>Tell me why i should use Mint as my primary OS
You're an windows user with baby duck syndrome but wants to try linux
>>45530227
Or you want to use the godly DE Cinnamon but keep managing to break Debian Sid.
>>45530161
why don't you do your own research
All Mint is, is ubuntu based distro, using Cinnamon or Mate(or others iirc) and its fairly nice, and pleasant to use
its a big thing, but its noncorporate, unlike ubuntu, and run by volunteers.
Its probably one of the better distros out there.
make your own decisions though. i dont know what you fucking need you dolt.
I can at least say Cinnamon is nicer than Unity
Windows vs Android on tablets.
Discuss.
Android has more programs
Android, windows is shitty.

Does /g/ do stickers?
Hell yes. SDF sticker in the house.
No because I don't need everyone at my coffee hole knowing what I'm about. Hide your damn power level.
After years of using Google Chrome i finally decided to stop doing it.
Shlould i go with Opera or Firefox ?
Firefox. Opera is just baby Chrome, with all the nice features removed.
>>45507814
>>45507814
Chrome is the best browser there is. You can't prove me wrong. The only people that hate it are "le muh free software xD" faggots. How about this, don't do anything illegal and you don't have to worry about being watched?
>>45507832
Maybe if you use Chropera.
>>45507814
Use Opera 12.16
Consindering changing from win8.1 to linux because of reasons, the only thing holding me back is that there's seems to be no daws for linux (adacity doesn't cut it).
Or is there any serious daws you could recommend?
Bitwig, but it's pretty shitty.
>>45509752
there are guides for fl studio, but nothing offical
no matter what you're doing
making music in linux IS PURE FUCKING PAIN.
if you don't want to go insane, don't fucking do it.
if you want to tinker around with some notes here and there and editing audio, it's okay.
if you want to work with midi instruments, low latency audio interfaces or even work with VSTs, you'll spend more time getting shit to run than actually being creative.
linux is a beautiful thing but people involved in working on linux are too fucking smug to admit it's HORRIBLE for musicians so far...
