Getting a new netbook this week. Narrowed it down to either an XPS 13 or a zenbook 305.
Anyone have either of those? How have you liked it? Is it comfortable to type on? Does it get hot?
No one? I know a few people at least have a XPS 13.
That's not a netbook you stupid faggot.
MacBook Air
I just bought a macbook pro.
On windows, when i click shoose file, I can paste a url that ends in .jpg or whatever and the image will show up on my post.
How the fuck do I do that on mac? There's no field to paste into.

Long-time OS X user here.
I don't know of a way to do this on OS X.
Install Windows.
What's a good USB wifi adapter? N is as much as I need, I'd honestly be happy with less. The last one I got was a TP-Link which despite good reviews elsewhere was not a stellar product.
This time i'd like a usb adaptor, preferably a small one like pic. I'm afraid the smaller ones are gonna have flaky reception though. Can anyone recommend a solid one? With hopefully great Windows 7 drivers. Linux compat is a plus but that's not it's purpose for right now.

those small ones without antennas have shit range
>>46702523
I noticed some of the small ones have a screw in antenna. That's kinda what I'm looking for, could you recommend a good brand or even model?
Net gear a6200. Or something like that. Ac connectivity, I get 7mb/s download on steam. About 50 USD.

I recently bought a dragon dildo to fleshlight adapter. I would take a photo but I had to RMA.
Let's talk UMPCs, what's the best modern UMPC? or close to it? I'm in the market for one, hopefully in the 300 dollar range
Unfortunately the only thing that will even get close to a "UMPC" in this day and age is either a 7-8inch tablet with a keyboard case or else you have to opt for an 11-inch laptop, most UMPC's have outdated processors and minimum upgradeability. If you want a really small and portable snappy laptop consider the vaio pro 11 or a macbook air

Does any recording software have a huge performance drop while recording? How can it be minimized?
I have two r9 290's, an fx 8350 and 16gb of ram, but when recording the frames drop significantly sometimes to unplayable levels.
What do?
What drive setup are you using? and what software? Pic related
I have an 8350 and 16GB of ram and have done some screen recording.
>>46696174
drive setup?
>>46696187
SSD, HDD, there's a bid difference especially with screen recording since SSD read/write times are MUCH faster than HDD read/write times. If you are writing and running from an SSD you can get away with good screen recording but with an HDD (hopefully you didn't listen to the whole SSD's don't much bit) it really affects those activies.
How come frontend/web developers get no respect from other programmers who consider themselves 'real software engineers' because they're using stuff like C/C++ and working on complex physics engines, 3D rendering systems, embedded circuits, etc?
>>46700859
Please do not equate front-end developers with web developers. Web developer is an umbrella term that covers a wide variety of things.
I did web development in my old job in C++ doing lightweight image and video processing, heavy file operations, full-text search in image XMP/IPTC metadata, writing background services etc.
I did not do JavaScript and HTML/CSS.
>>46700859
>How come frontend/web developers get no respect?
Because that's an easy task that even a monkey could perform after a short training.
For a good indicator if a task is easy, look at the % of women doing it.

>How come frontend/web developers get no respect from other programmers who consider themselves 'real software engineers'
because those real software engineers are using stuff like C/C++ and working on complex physics engines, 3D rendering systems and embedded circuits.

>While Telegram was founded upon a noble goal of providing privacy to consumers everywhere at no cost, they have fallen short of their objective by focusing purely on data-in-transit versus protecting data-at-rest on the mobile device itself. What is regrettable is that I approached Telegram multiple times and have yet to receive a response. Telegram’s so-called powerful encryption is not protecting users any better than any other page or app that uses SSL. If you are using Telegram because you want to ensure your privacy and the privacy of the messages you are sending, be aware that it will not stop sophisticated hackers from reading your messages. We highly recommended adding additional protection to your mobile device that can detect device-level cyberattacks.

You people talk about those dinosaur laptops all the time, and I totally believe they have a nicer keyboard and aspect ratio than other laptops, but has any of you ever taken his thinkpad outside the basement? Like disconnected it from the charger and took it to class?
If so:

Why are you here, preaching to the choir? Are you really so uninspired that you get any sort of entertainment, enjoyment, or vindication from preaching maymays to the same echo-chamber/hugbox that taught them to you? Good lord.
