What's the most /g/ approved free encryption software? Looking for something that can encrypt files and an entire hybrid drive.
>>46928145
dm-crypt
all encryption software has backdoors
prove me wrong
or better: prove edward snowden wrong
>>46928210
Snowden himself gave examples of encryption that doesn't have backdoors.
One signature line from him is that properly implemented crypto is one thing that can stop the NSA.
>>46928145
DM-crypt/LUKS.
Truecrypt 7.1a is good too- fully audited, reproducible binary. Do not get 7.2
>steam machines
>low budget
>none of them have APU's
why?

>gaymen
not unless you are playing those censored weeb novels
Even Valve realizes how shit AMD is.
Also they probably don't want to get sued for housefires.
>>46921952
SteamOS is Linux based. AMD is notorious for bad drivers even on Windows.
will there be an option to remove this part?
>>46923590
windows is such poop.. such smelly poop...
>>46923590
Want to know this too. Or I will just stick with Windows 8 and classic shell.
>>46923590
Nobody knows. It's not like anyone has a crystal ball that can tell you the future.
How does a womans tech-capabilities differ from a mans? Speaking in a general way.
Are women better with social media? Do they know more about when the new iPhone will come out and what it will have?
Are the genders the same?
pcb?
more like pussyb
A general rule of thumb is that men think and women feel.
Well they sure can't hold any electronic cards properly.
Those cards are going to be full of fingermarks now.
So I got $500 to build my little brothers friend an entry-level gaming pc. He said I could keep whatever money I don't spend. He wants to use it primarily for Gmod and games like that. I don't want to skimp out too much trying to make money off of it, I want to get it to play BF4 at the most. Is an a10 5800k build good enough? I was trying to hover around the 300-350 price point but I don't wanna butt fuck him for it.

Read the sticky.

>I don't want to skimp out too much
>is a $300 build enough?
>keeping literally 30% of his money for yourself
you're an idiot
>>46923262
He told me he doesn't want me to do too much with the build and is fine with just gmod. I want to build him something better than that because I know building a pc isn't worth $200 of service.
When was the last time you used optical media?
Yesterday,I had to instal linux
>>46919269
This. Sometimes formatting and getting an image can take some work.
>inb4 dd if=.iso of=partition
doesn't always work. it's.much easier to insert a cheap dvd and burn it in k3b and reboot than to install to usb most of the time.
>>46919264
My car doesn't have an aux jack, I need to burn CDs for it. I hate it.

Fuck off.
Can't spell Aspire without the Aspie.
1440p monitor -> IPS 60hz or TN 144hz. Can't stand screen tearing but IPS looks marvellous.
Why are there no new flagship phones with keyboards?
Almost every time I see someone with a smartphone they are texting. So wouldn't those phones be popular? Isn't there a demand for them?
>tfw no N950
I honestly prefer the touchscreen of my moto g to the keyboard on my samsung chat
> 5.5 IPS 1080p screen
> 4GB RAM
> 2.3Ghz Intel Atom Quadcore
> 32GB storage
> $285 USD
Not to mention this Intel chipset seems to be faster than Snapdragon 805.
Sounds good, shame it has a huge fucking logo on the front.
>>46928874
Yeah but it's Asus therefore, cool.
>>46928889
it's snsv
THE ONLINE STORE IS BEING REFRESHED IN PREPARATION FOR THE WATCH AND BROADWELL MACBOOK AIR.

>>46926773
Fuck off shill I cant wait fro that watch to bomb its a stupid fucking idea.
I don't really understand the hype over these smartwatches? What would one add to my life to make it worth the money?
Old one is over 300.
Its not the nicest or the neatest, but its mine.

Anyone here still use a dumbphone?
I've been wanting to get one lately since I only talk and text and don't like using apps.
>Pic related
even homeless people have smartphones where I live
A friend of mine does, and he's a CS student.
>>46923693
This
We live in a society where the poorest of the poor can own a smartphone. I would like to someday switch to one, and almost did about 5 months ago. Then the Apple Watch was announced and now I am a consumerist slave who will be buying it day one :^)
>>46923714
Smart. Less distractions
Can a computer be a phone?
I don't want to carry a phone since they're devices which violate my freedoms. Is it possible to totally abandon cell phones and use my laptop?
I carry my backpack with laptop in it everywhere I go, so couldn't I just use earbuds and answer that way?
>pic actually related, considering backpack for my short commute
Thanks
This is the most /g/ post i have ever seen.
>>46924103
I find it really funny when people express both paranoid skepticism and overwhelming ignorance of a given subject in the same post. You'd think these cretins would figure that they're not really in a position to be suspicious beyond dumb paranoia, but nope.
>>46924125
>>46924136
Does that mean yes?
2 hours left /g/, are you ready?, are you fucking ready?
gay
>>46927792
who the fuck cares?
Ready for what?
ITT shitty technology that's still around and won't go away.
It's 2015 and paper currency still has to be perfectly flat and inserted face-up in order to be properly detected and used in vending machines and ATM's.
don't most atms still use XP
vending machines that take credit cards are becoming pretty common. Hell the air pump at the gas station i use has had a credit card reader for several years
>>46923894
For some reason, the US still uses magnetic strips instead of smart cards. It's pretty crazy.
